well i guess i am officially a crazy rabbit lady!!  me and my husband went to a pet store today to get some feeder fish and some willow tunnels.  well, when we were there we saw a fluffy white lion head baby with blue eyes.  i think we both fell in love.  he usually doesnt show interest in any of the bunnies.  he thinks of them as being mine.  he was so excited over this baby that i just had to get it.  he says he is going to play with and pet this bunny all day lol.  so funny to hear him talk like that!  so i guess this makes number 4.  the lady at the store says its a girl, but we will have to double check of course.  i think she is about 3 months old judging from her size.  there was also no food or water in her cage or litter box.  poor baby.  i didnt think i was going to be coming home with another rabbit today, esp bc hubby wanted one!  i wanted to name her sammy for samantha but when he picked up the kids from school he told them her name was zoey.  what a sneak!!  do i wait to introduce any of my other rabbits until after she is spayed?  or do i do it now while she is a baby??  heres some pics.  it is normal for white bunnies to have blue eyes?

Oh my. a blue eyed white lionhead. I’d be in love too!

Definitely wait til she/he is fixed before introducing her/him to them. You want to make sure hormones aren’t an issue. Take her/him to a vet to get a check up to make sure everything is good, and to verify gender.

          Congrats on the new addition

She is adorable! I love that it was your husband that insisted.

Definitely keep her separated until she’s spayed. How many of your other buns are done yet? What are their sexes?
They will smell her on you, so be prepared for some unexpected reactions, like peeing or digging on the shirt you are wearing if you just held her, some territorial poops in the room. They will know, but shouldn’t be together yet.

Definitely have your vet sex her and give you a date for a spay. It may be 2-3 months if she’s only 3 months, but she may be big enough even sooner.

Very cute! I agree with the others about spaying – it’s just safer for her.

Blue eyed whites aren’t that common, but they’re becoming far more common I think. Red eyed whites were the original white rabbit and are still more common. Petzy and I had a long running thread about blue eyed white genetics a few months ago 😉 Basically, two genes causes blue eyed white, while one gene causes bunnies with blue eyes and white spots on their nose, paws, etc. Very cute!

thanks!! i have 2 boys and 1 girl. they are all altered. i will definitely take her to the vet to be sure. esp since they dont even know how old she is, so it might be too soon to tell. can they tell how old they are or if they are ready to be spayed? i know for a boy they are just waiting for the testicles to drop, but how do they know for a girl?

I think your husband let you down in the pet store. — Cute bunny: check; but go solo next time you get pet supplies.

uh-oh. Sounds as if the hubby got well and truly bitten by the bunny bug.
Congrats on the beautiful new addition.

Well I guess you have to ask the husband first, since Zoey is apparently his! lol

What a beautiful bunny! I wish I could have four..but my boyfriend says no. How can one ever have enough bunnies?! I’m really interested to hear how it goes with the introduction of a new female ’cause if I do add a fourth, I think it should be a girl as well.

I think you you should. Bonding sessions can cure the perceived need to get that ‘cute little bunny from the pet store’.

–I don’t mean this in a bad way, since I know you wanted 4 rabbits in the beginning. It is just easier to bond those that you have before getting more.
