This time last year I posted a similar thread as a sort of opportunity to recap the year on BB.com.  Well another year has past and I’m older and wis-…um, lazier.  I was going to just paste edited version of the intro from that other thread – but no, I’ve resolved to do better.

Though particular things are not coming to mind for me (it’s sweltering here, and my brain has melted) I would like to say, that the BB.com forums has remained one of my favorite places to visit.  Chiefly due to the wonderful community here.  We’ve had alot of people come and join, some go…and some return.     And so many funny bunny personalities to share about.  These pictures and stories of their antics have balanced out some of the sadder stories regarding needy rabbits and the saying good-bye to some of our loved furry friends.

A toast….To you all for your love of rabbits and animals in general, to Jennifer for this awesome website, to the Forum Leaders who are here for us and do a great job,  to you all who work in rescue (strength & peace to you), and once again to you all for your friendship.   I do hope you’ll continue to came and share in 2010.   Happy New Year!   *clink clink*

Please share you “stand out moments” on BB or in life this year, or just thoughts in general.

Sadly the demise of the shelter Id’ dreamed about my whole life
BUT adding Noot and Mikey to my family-I couldn’t have asked for better animals-it just couldn’t have been better -wonderful boys
Also Chuck’s illness was not a good thing
I can definitely say I’m ready for 2010 and hopefully a better year

I do have to TOAST to everyone on here-such wonderful supportive members here I couldn’t have gone through hard times without them

Let’s see.. start with the bad so I can end with the good.. bad, definitely first the car in my computer room, and then the 2 smashed up cars just before Christmas. The car in the computer room cancelled my honeymoon plans

The good: Getting Monkey and Moose! Oh, and getting married too hehe. Joining BB was a high note as well, who knew so many people were bonkers over bunnies! It’s been wonderful getting to know all of you, seeing pics of all the bunnies. I’ve gotten quite attached to many, if not all!, of them. BB has definitely been one of the best things to happen to me this year

Thanks to all for welcoming me here back in May when I first got Bun. Also I can’t thank you enough for the help with me losing my grandma. It’s been a really really…REALLY..hard year. Thank you for getting me through it better than I could have alone.

Also thank you for calming my nerves when I brought home Indiana Jones !! Little Indy Bun!!

Today I showed my friend my aquarium post to show him the photos, and he kept reading posts. He let out a huge gasp and said, “OH MY GOD…There are more people like you out there!!!” Lol!!! He thinks I’m nutty about animals :p

im grateful for this year because it’s the year i discovered bunnies! im so glad i got mumbles, even though it was on impulse. she opened my eyes to how beautiful rabbits are. sadly mumbles also passed away this year.. and although i miss her im still so glad for the memories and experiences i had with her, we shared an incredible bond. and now i have a beautiful bunny family! i hope next year is as good as – or for others better than – this year!

                  Happy New Year’s everyone!

2009 was hard. I’m not going to miss it. It felt like every step forward was counteracted with a mile in reverse.

The good: I finally started my Dental Hygiene program (ahem… straight As first semester… lol!) It’s tough, but I love it, and I’ve met awesome people!

Overall 2009 was pretty good for me. Some tough decisions were made, some things happened beyond my control, but such is life. You have to keep on rollin’.

In July, my BF and I had to put our dog, Change, to sleep. That was definitely one of the worst parts of the year. However, I believe there’s a bright side to everything and only a few weeks after Change passed, MJ came into our lives and we’ve been proud bunny slaves ever since.

After doing lots of research and spending so much time on the internet, BB.com is the one place I really enjoy coming back to day after day.

One hilarious bunny moment of 2009 was when MJ first learned he could jump on the couch. He had never attempted such a high jump and cleared it without a problem. Unfortunately, it just so happened that his first adventure onto the couch was also when my BF’s dad had drifted to sleep on said couch. MJ hopped directly in front of his face and started sniffing his nose and mouth. He awoke abruptly and by some miracle managed not to throw MJ across the room.

I hope everyone has a very happy and safe New Year!

2009 brought me max and penny which is the most high moment!
unfortunately it also brought the death of my favorite great-aunt and a lot of family problems.

                        however, bunnies outweigh those

                        *toasts* to 2010!

Excellent thread, as always, Jerz! *clinks many glasses*
If you don’t mind, I will ditto your previous statements, especially to Jennifer for this enjoyable and educational site. Long Live BB.com!

I have to first thank my bunnies for coming into my life two years ago, or I would not know any of you wonderful people! I don’t usually feel that friendships can be made to last online, but you have all proved me wrong. So many of you are so dear to me and it seems with each passing day I find more of you to add to my online family. I don’t know who I’m gathering more of, bunnies or friends! ^_^ My ‘people warren’ is here, and on this board I feel safe and welcomed. Thank you all.

My year has been nothing short of tumultuous. Mostly in the animal department. Two aged dogs with GDV in the spring and mad dashes to get them to the vet in time to save their lives with two major surgeries. Of course dear Taiku, the younger, who recently passed due to other gastric complications, and who this year doesn’t have to be scared by the neighbor’s fireworks displays (that in itself is both a sad and happy event)…and with my bunnies, Mimzy-still fighting either allergies or some mysterious illness that causes him to sneeze and yet in these last months he is becoming more of a cuddle bun than ever he was before…my cat, Tooey, who is now doing quite well (and the other cats too) after some nasty stomach problems as well.
My son going to college for his first semester was a huge change. I never really knew what insomnia was until this September. He goes back about mid-January, but I got a Go phone for Xmas this year, so now I can bug him with text messages and such. ^_^

I’ve tried very hard to adopt a more patient philosophy with life. Sadly I don’t always succeed, but that’s part of the joys and sorrows of being human. And in those joys and sorrows of all of you here, I hope I have shared a bit of comfort, helped you to laugh, held you while you cried, empathized with similar experiences we’ve had even with miles between us and maybe never seeing each other’s faces…and I hope to continue to live life beside you all in a glorious and shining 2010!

Congratulations to all of you with your various accomplishments! It’s great when we find something we enjoy doing, and can do it well to the benefit of ourselves and those around us. And even in those times when something we want to dedicate ourselves to doesn’t work out, it means that (imo) God has a higher purpose for us, and in His good time He will let us know what it is. May His hand gently guide us through our futures and may we not argue too strongly with Him when a signpost says, “Go this way” and we want to take the other road.

And my goodness, we’ve made it through the first decade of the new century! One down, nine left to go! lolz…

God bless you all and bring you peace and happiness this new year. A Sante! (a French toast to good health and long life)

                            mmm! French toast ^ Yummy!

MM, thank you for your wishes and blessings. May 2010 be more uplifting for you.

One of my own highlights for 2009 was getting a 2nd rabbit. Rumball (then known as Hoppy) came to my home at Easter time ironically and it’s been great getting to know him. Funny little fellow. He’s my squishy bun that is now allowing me to pet him more without being skittish. Despite being a loafer, the boy can move when he wants to. Outside and sometimes indoors, he does a little power run which is quite comical.

Also, I was happy to witness Jersey and his bonding. Thanks Goodness!

On bb.com I enjoyed the pic captioning threads and spent waaaaay to much time submitting posts and viewing everyone elses! Fun!

Another “standout’ was watching the famous Jack & Vivian new relationship develop.  It was great to see it succeed after Rucy sadly left for the Rainbow Bridge & Jack came thru his surgery successfully.
Noot & Chuck was another wonderful story and also, Petzy’s bonding the 4 males was really interesting to see come about. Great job Gina!

Also, on the forums, we were spoilt with baby rabbit pics. Not a common thing on a site that does not promote intentional breeding. As we know, these were accidental or surprise litters and the picture were just too cute! The owners really stepped up and took responsibility. These babies were well cared for and given an opportunity for good permanent homes. I wish other litters that were born and will be born in the coming year got the same dedication that these ones did.

p.s. Beka – congratulations on your results!

*clinks glasses* Yes, thank you so much Jennifer for all of your hard work in keeping BB alive and the forum leaders who also work hard to help keep this great community so great!
I’m afraid I missed quite a bit of BB this year because of India, my dad’s illness and working far too many jobs. 2009 was a horror year for me and I’m so glad it’s over.
The worst parts were in Feb when the town most of my family is from burnt to the ground, leaving many of them homeless, my beautiful aunty passing away from cancer and my sister moving overseas with her husband and baby.
The best part was being able to wrap up the year with my wonderful family who I love and missed so much when I lived so far away from them.
Leaving my husband was pretty much the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but was probably done for the best (only time will tell of course) but my family have been super supportive and only ocassionally joke about my marriage only being marginally longer than Brittany Spears’ marriage…lol.
Thank you everyone for being so brilliant and welcoming me back after such a long absence. I wish everyone a wonderful new year, all the best for 2010…because it’s a new year, a new decade and a new beginning

I agree with Mimz- it is amazing how attached we can get to people and their buns online. But this is a great community with great people who make it such a huge part of all of our lives. (even if some of us lurk more than we post lol)

It has definitely been a rocky year for me. My health was bad for most of the year but things are finally getting better. My marriage suffered because of my health but that has completely changed and is continuing to get better everyday. My biggest accomplishment was starting my business this year which for me is a huge accomplishment with being sick.

I know 2010 will be a great year for all of us and our furry babies!! Happy New Year!
