My dog has the run of the house up stairs so I normaly let my bunny run around my room when im up there with her. But I was thinking of turning a spot in our basment that we dont use much for a small little “run” for her. The floor would be tiled. Any tips?

        Thankies!

She may not like the tile, depending on what sort of floor she is used to. For a run, can you do a remnant of carpeting, even the short-pile indoor/outdoor stuff would be fine. Is your basement water-proofed, free from drafts, and well-ventilated (not moldy or damp-smelling?) If you don’t think she’d mind being carried downstairs for the run-time, and you can spend time down there with her, I think it is a good idea!

You might want to consider one or more of those 30 x 8″ expanding fun tunnels as a streamlined thru-way for your bunny within his run.  I just got a couple and it’s lightweight, inexpensive and simulates a rabbit warren tunnel.  My bunny Buddie loves to zoom through his from entrance of his pen to his litterbox  and usually at night I can hear him barreling through it.  He doesn’t chew on it but both the UK Snugglesafe version and the USA Ware Fun Tunnel version claim they are nontoxic while the snugglesafe claims to be bite resistant as well.  Cool tunnels!

Well, why don’t you also use some of the idea’s from the toy test. such as the “dig box” or “The Jellyfish”. I’m sure your bun will love it. Also, you would want to make sure your basement is heated and that there is no mold, moistness, or drafts at all. I wouldn’t want your bun getting sick. Also, try adding a small area rug so when your bun wants a nice place to rest their feet from the cold, they have it.
