I’m not sure if this is normal or not and I’m pretty sure this makes me completely crazy. I leave the tv on for Freya. If no one is home or when we go to bed I make sure it’s on for her so she’s not alone. I also make sure that it’s something that’s ok for her to watch. I once saw someone cook a rabbit on food network so I won’t just leave that on for her. I also make sure that there won’t be any violent movies on so there won’t be any types of sudden loud noises that could freak her out. (Even though she LOVES the movie Pearl Harbor.) Does anyone else do this sort of thing or am I totally alone here? I know people do this for dogs. Maybe someone should make a channel just for pets that airs stuff they’ll want to watch 24/7.

Adelaide if I could I would leave on some classical music channel for them.   Hubby pitches a fit and I am fortunate I can leave a light on for them when we go away.

When I had dogs Odie and Spar (boxer hence her name) I would leave the tv on for them.

It is cute how you take care of what you leave on for your buns when you are away.   I tend to turn the volume down when I am able to leave tv or classical music on for them.

There is a pet channel too.   I don’t remember what state or area it airs in but one did exist I do know that.

                …I’m sure she does MarkBun

I often play music when I’m at home for Monkey and me, we don’t have cable so we don’t have TV other than the DVD series we buy.

At least I’m not alone in this. I know there’s a channel about pets but it has a lot of dogs and I don’t want that to freak her out. I also never leave her without a nightlight, what if she fell because she couldn’t see? We wouldn’t have cable if I had to pay for it but since we’re at my in-laws house it’s free so I’m more than happy to take advantage of that. I’ve lived without tv before and it’s not really a big deal. It’s my computer and interwebs that I’d just die without.

In truth, she does. When she would hop around at night in my living room, she’d only stop to sit on the armrest of the couch and watch while Monday night Anime was playing on the SyFy channel. Once the commercials started, she’d head off again.

Otto doesn’t seem as interested in tv as he does in just staring off into space 😛 But maybe our tv is just too big and too high off the ground for him to see it well.

I leave music for my buns because I don’t want them to get lonely. I try to avoid leaving the TV on for them because that just encourages them to sit on my couch and watch it…not really they do! They love TV, and sitting on the couch. I have couch potato bunnies.

Pepper likes music (especially live) but the TV i think is just lights and colors to her.  She mostly ignores it.

I leave the radio on for Eclipse during the day to keep her more awake (so she sleeps at night). I’m not really worried about them being lonely, as even though my three don’t live together, they see each other. Plus there are 2-3 Chihuahuas in there with them and a fish tank filter. The fish tank bubbles also run during the day. I try to keep it busy (not loud) in my room during the day. It also helps the dogs as they tune out all those little noises that make one think they are barking at the spinning of the Earth!

lol…I have my portable radio in my ear all day and most of the night. The bunnies and I listen to all sorts of talk radio programs, music, religious stuff, silly commercials…
I love the “Baby Jessie” commercials coming on the radio these days; the one where the 8 week old baby’s dad is getting her all these high tech gadgets at Office Max or Staples or something. xD
And the ones with the guy sending his identity out shopping, those are a scream too.
Sad when you remember the commercials better than you do the shows. ~_~

Mimzy used to love to listen to (since it wasn’t positioned to be seen) the PBS program “Miffy”…the kids show with the white bunny on it? It’s where I got his first silly song to sing to him, just changed the name.

Loud noises of any kind are definitely out though…so I think that Maryann WOULD hop away during commercials, Mark, they probably hurt her ears…I know they do mine. 0_o

And yeah, if I don’t leave something on for them to quietly chat away while I’m in town (battery operated radio) they get really spooked, since leaving lights on for them makes me nervous. Our electrical system in this old house isn’t the best.

Someone based an anime character off of Maryann.  Watch the first minute of this vid to see what happens if I forget her nightly raisin snack:

My husband is not technically a “bunny person”… altho it would shock you sometimes the stuff he says/does. A couple weeks ago we were talking/JOKING about leaving the tv/radio on for the bunnies… he said that if he could, he’d BUY a small, 10 inch LCD tv and mount it on the wall outside their pen, about a foot off the floor… and then find programming (WHERE?! I don’t know!) of bunnies frolicking in a field and play this over and over all day long.

I just looked at him. I think he’s officially lost it… If I come in one day and he’s measuring poop with a ruler… I’ll know that he has “crossed over”…

i leave my tv on for the fuzzies all day long. i think because *I* like the background noise (single girl here) i assume *they* like it too. never thought about the daily programming i leave them with. interesting. i’ll have to look up what’s on the local channel thats on while i’m gone. def agree it’d be bad to leave on the food network!
