  i’m also generally stupid when it comes to building stuff, so making it by hand would be a disaster.
  
  has anyone seen anything similar somewhere for less money?? i can only find the racks, which i hate. they make a mess.
  
  i want something big that i can load up 1x a week and that will keep the hay mostly contained.

  That would be really easy to make, maybe you could visit your local high school woodworking class, send the school and email and a kid could probably build one for you if you purchase the materials. Too bad you live so far away I could go into the garage and make it myself with all my dads power tools and saws. Shipping would suck from California though. You could even contact your local boy-scouts, they have to do woodworking projects to get badges and such. My dad just assisted an eagle scout making a giraffe deck for the keepers to stand on to feed them hay, so I think contacting the scouts would also be a great idea.
  
  It would be so easy to make, measure out all the sides, cut the holes, sand it all to make it smooth, nail gun or old fashion hammer it together. I have super high hopes that you can get a teenager to build this for you.

  Why not try email SaveABunny Org and ask them if they distribute them from somewhere over your way? Thats a neat box. Looks like an upgrade to their No Waste Hay rack.

  Sorry I was so focused on how to build this hay box, I didn’t realize I could be offensive since this item proceeds benefit rescued rabbits. I am sorry if I upset anyone and didn’t mean anything by it and hopefully nobody from savearabbit is going to kill me in the night. *CRINGE*

  No offense, and I volunteer at SAB. We used to have one that had a wire front but the woman making them stopped doing so – I got one of the last two door models. I am actually thingin about giving mine up for another style of hay holder but not certain yet.

  Of course you would be! Monkey, now I am forced to point out your size again… I figure you would surely fall inside that wooden hay bin from SAB. You could get seriously trapped. I agree, stick with the willow one…

  Hehe I actually got the willow one for the new bun, whichever we end up picking after the 2nd round of dates… yes there will be another round of dates, this time here at my house. We’ll see how Monkey behaves then! lol
