Lost my mind, and its all the bunnies fault.  Being a bunny mom has started to brainwash me.  I didnt realise until I started taking care of Timon (the new kitten I found with the boken leg).  A few days ago I was changing litter boxes, 4 in my room total, 1 for Mae, 2 for Hammer and Lucy, 1 for Timon.  My litter box routine is so second nature now that Timon’s box got bunny litter and a handful of hay in one end.  And still the worst part is I didnt notice my harebrained (pun intended!) mistake till over an hour later.

Most of the time when I yell at the buns its just “BUNNY NO” because my room is so overflowing that I cant always see who is doing the naughty behavior.  Now Im yelling at the “bunny” to stop when Timon chases the other cats around the house.

As bunny slaves we all know where our buns are underfoot even without realising that we are constantly checking.  My mom isnt used to this and always forgets to glance down before moving a muscle.  So now we will be in the kitchen or something and Timon will wander in.  I of course notice and my mom does not, so Im screaming at her to “WATCH THE BUNNY!” every time she moves while Timon is within a few feet of her.

My mom decided she wanted to make a condo for Timon because we cant let him run all over the place all the time yet.  Her project turned into mine lol.  We agreed on a 2×2 with 3 levels, you need 3 boxes for that.  She didnt believe me and bought 2 boxes, Grrrrr.  When it came to actually letting her put it together it was a nightmare, she didnt have a plan and was going to figure it out as she went.  It was crazy, no mother thats the wrong zip tie its to small…  no mother you still need a door… no mother that zip tie isnt tight enough… no mother that floor needs more support!  Well when all was said and done we figured out Id made it for a bunny, not a cat.  The cat would not chew the cardboard floor as a bun would, I didnt have to factor in the floor easily supporting bunny thumping, I didnt have to worry about securing the litter box so it wouldnt throw it to the bottom level.  So the buns get it to play in when Timon is done with it, if I can find somewhere to put it.

Timon will probably start responing to bunny soon because thats what I always end up calling him, it just slips out without me even noticing! Last night I toke his toy mouse out of his cage before I went to bed and my mom was like “why are you doing that?”, “because their are little rattle balls in it”.  Duh!  “Elizabeth…”  “..oh…”.  A bunny would chew the fabic open and get to the little rattle peices, but a cat would not.

            Griff-tiger cat,male
am ALWAYS confusing Griff and Mimz. Probably because, even though I shouldn’t play favorites, they both are my baby babies.

            Ack ack ack!

MM I just edited your post when I meant to hit quote, and I totally messed up your reply. I’m so tired from work this week, but that’s not excuse. I can’t believe I just did this. I am the senile slave. Oh good grief. I’m glad it’s you, since I know you’ll forgive. So here’s the dumb reply to your no longer in existance quote I was quoting. Sheesh. Talk about senile. Griff????

            Who the heck is Griff?????

I never heard of him! How can he be a baby baby when you’ve never mentioned him. I am so confused. I didn’t even know you had another cat. Poor Griff. Come here, baby. Let me give you some nice raisins and bananas and you’ll feel better. Just ignore the senile slave. She’s just cold.

              Timon

A woman with a newborn once told me “you lose your brain when you have a baby”. I know mothers certainly get distracted when there’s a handful of kids about! Guess it’s the same with furbabies too. hehehe. I’m sure Timon is loving the attention anyways. He’ll probably sample hay at some point too so might as well i ntroduce it early.

I’ve just got the two buns, but even I can’t keep the names of other animals straight. My sister thinks it’s hilarious when I call her doberman a “good bunny girl”. I guess it’s true for everybody… bunnies take over your mind!
