I’m having withdrawals.  A while back it seemed like none of the regular posters had Flemish Giants (Though most wanted one!) Then joy of joys, some members starting sharing their Flemmies with us all.  But where have they gone?   Bunners?  Nori?  Wasn’t there a new member adopting a pair of flemish brothers?

Bring back the big bunnies I say!

We seem to have a curse of all the members with flemmies going inactive.
I seem to remember some member (Beka?) joking some time ago that the flemmies literally eat the owners out of house and home…so of course they can’t post.

Oh silly me! We still have Sugar, Deirdra and Loki. Phew! Are there any other ‘half-ies’?
That is an interesting theory Fluffy lol Yes, that may be it!

I’ve noticed this too! And people always seem to post pictures of baby flemmies when they look like most other rabbits. I want to see pics of them once they’re 15lbs!!

Deirdra’s ears started ringing last night, around midnight, and it was my job this morning to find out who was talking about her behind her… butt

–valid theory! Deirdra, only a ‘halfie’ is eating a lot…

                      I will illustrate…

                      Deirdra’s hay for the winter…

And where is Deirdra? Ah yes, eating of course in behind a bale….

up in the hay shed attic where she climbed up on top of the bales

that’s where the flemmis and the halfies are. Busy eating…

It’s tough, you know? Having to eat so much…

On a positive note,  Deirdra has taught my other rabbits to appreciate hay.  –Life is a hay party.

*sigh* I was a potential flemmie owner (meaning that the very next time a flemmie wound up in my rescue I was snatching it) but I just aquired two agouti rex mix brothers via my daughter. Who is a brat because I really like her rabbits, almost better than mine. Hers are way more friendlier.

Rex beats flemmie in my opinion. So two agouti rexes are as good as 1 flemmie! I wonder if you could get a rexed flemish??

They are SO soft and skwishy. I tried to get her to trade them for my lionheads and she said no.

Tarm, I’m glad to see that there are no regrets about getting those agouti boys!! Seems your entire household is in love with them.

That reminds me, I was in Home Depot the other day and I found these: http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=204608493&listingid=34169123 (or something really similar anyways) and I thought it would be the most perfect giant rabbit pan!!! Unlike those under the bed storage ones, this is actually fairly tall, as well as much cheaper (it was like $8.00 at HD). It was pretty darn solid too, but not that heavy. My mom almost got one for her Chickens to play in (our chickens love water).

I think that there is a purebred Flemish curse. Remind me to get a Flemish mix if I ever talk about wanting to get one.

I wanna see more Flemmies too! My bf says the only animal I could ever bring home without him getting mad at me would have to be a flemish! Too bad my 3 mini’s have me going broke

She weighs 11 lbs now. Which is strange because when I got her she weighed just shy off 10 and I find she looks trimmer now but she is heavier. I wonder if she built herself up somehow with exercise?

edit: she was almost 9 months when I adopted her, could she have grown?

I saw the top of this post and thought of the old folk song, “Where have all the Flemmie’s gone? Long time passing…” lol
My hubby informed me recently that the lady we get our eggs from has Flemmies…. 0_o

Yes, that was me who said that the Flemmies end up eating the owners out of house and home and they can no longer afford internet access. ;o)

There is a Flemish curse, I think. Maybe, in order to “break” the curse, we need to ALL go out and ADOPT our own Flemish… I would do it… you know… just to make sure that the curse gets broken.

We’ve just been living quietly, no drama, healthy and happy.  Just busy!  Seems like these days, when I’m not working, then I’m shopping for Bunny food!

We’re going over to a friends house for Thanksgiving tomorrow (Bunners and I both, since he goes where I go these days), So I’ll take some pics so you guys can see how much he’s grown.  15lbs and counting!
