The first thing I look at on the Forum main page is “the Support Center” with great fear that a member’s beloved bunny has passed on. It’s so hard because a lot of the forum buns we come to know and love and it’s so sad to hear of a forum friend’s loss. I sort of breathe a sigh of relief if there are no new entries.

I actually check the ‘Rescue Bunnies’ first but that is my second stop.

            Aw, LPT.
It’s like starting to read the newspaper with the Obituaries. Start with the Funnies instead. (Lounge) You’ll feel better.

That’s how I get when I come onto the site after being away for a while… I get nervous about looking in that section! I was relieved to see there was not much sad news in the past couple months I was AWOL.

I try and avoid even looking at the display thread for the Support Forum just in case! Not that I don’t care of someone’s bun has crossed the bridge, just that I get so sad when they do!

I do, I start with the Lounge first, then Rescue, then Support. I like to look at the pictures everyone posts in the Lounge to make me smile Both the support and rescue sections make me feel very sad and I wish that I could rescue every bunny and the support section makes me wish I could hug all of the owners

I don’t log in in fear-I HATE hearing that anybunny is sick or gone to the bridge. BUT I want to be here to support people. We’ve been through a lot (Especially this year at my place!) and I want to lend my shoulder to cry on, my ear to listen, and my advice if I can Its troubling of course but supporting each other-very very good

I have to admit that it breaks my heart to read about people losing their pets. I couldn’t stop crying when Taiku died, and when I found that thread about Chuck, I panicked, thinking that I’d find that he had passed when I got to the second page… it’s hard to think about any sweet little bunny leaving us, but Chuck especially just gets me… he’s gorgeous, sweet, and just deserves a long happy life with Noot and his lion, after everything he’s been through.

Anyway, to sum up… I love Chuck. And I agree that it’s really hard to think about any of our forum bunnies leaving us. (Isn’t it weird how you can love somebody else’s bunny that you’ve never met??)

Yes. And No I guess lol. I can get attached to BB bunnies and others we hear of here thru rescues. Some just stay with you. I guess it’s just an expansion of the love we have for our own – or our susceptibility for them in general? I don’t know. I also don’t know if I enter the forums with fear but I will anxiously check for updates from time to time. I know my heart has sunk many times on reading of those who have left us.
To balance emotions though, the forums give such a roundedness. I love the BB forums. I love being able to connect with the people here in such a respectful environment.

Lara, I feel exactly the same way about Chuck.
Spockie had died a month before I found BinkyBunny, and even though no one here had met us when he was alive, they loved his stories and were very, very comforting and supportive. So even without a bunny, I kept coming back and got to know a lot of other bunnies you all talked about. It was like having a family of pets. I watched videos, the webcams, saw pictures, heard stories. It was wonderful while I waited to be able to find Samantha.

Most of us have younger rabbits, which means we may be talking about them as individuals for a very long time. Some that are infirm, or we know are older, may be ones we see in Support and I just can’t brace myself until that happens. And when one is young but has a tragedy it’s very hard. But this is such a lovely way to bring friendship and comfort from slaves who truly and deeply understand how you feel. It’s easy to love more bunnies, especially ones with names and faces you know.

                            Well said, JerseyGirl…
