That's so cute...your daughter sitting on the eggs! That engraved emu egg make me think you could do similar things to them like halloween pumpkins - using a "shading" technique. You could cut of the bottom and part of the top, put a tealight in there and have it illuminate the carving. Wonder whether that would work?

Although I think a candle would be an issue as there would be a lot of heat trapped inside of it.  Even with a large hole in the top, the flame probably is a bit close to the walls.

My bonding quest with Maryann - Read about a less than easy bonding with two buns - but they did bond!

haha A plug in egg! That looks pretty amazing though. Obviously many have done the illuminating thing.
Whoever says "It's only a rabbit" has obviously never loved a rabbit.
