          Welcome Bumblebee & Peanut!
What a gorgeous little guy! I love lop eared bunnies and you don’t see many white ones, so this little guy is really pegging my cute meter. So adorable!
Did he get his name because of his size? He looks so tiny!

Apparently because he’s panhandling. For sunglasses.

Lol KyKattin, We have an ostrich called Peanut! We have a few ostriches actually, at the farm.  And no, I dont ride them. I have in the past, been sitting on one to hold it still so the vet could have a look at it, and then it has stood up and run off with me still on its back… (Ouch) but we dont ride them like horses or anything.

Peanut is on the left, Elle is on the right, and thats my daughter Darci, sitting on the eggs, watching them

(Peanut the Rabbit is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cuddlier!)

That’s amazing that they let you near the eggs.  Guess domesticated animals are a little more friendly about stuff like that.  My friend used to have Emu’s and I loved their blue/green shells.  You can do a lot of interesting carvings with them.  However, you have to take a drill to them to open them up they’re so dang hard!

We do that with the ostrich eggs! they look awesome!
We can go in this pen with the eggs because they are both girls and I have raised them. But many a time have we been kicked out of a pen by a male ostrich who is protective of his eggs!
Emus are awesome too , they are so different in personality!

That’s so cute…your daughter sitting on the eggs! That engraved emu egg make me think you could do similar things to them like halloween pumpkins – using a “shading” technique. You could cut of the bottom and part of the top, put a tealight in there and have it illuminate the carving. Wonder whether that would work?

Like this? (It’s an ostrich egg).

Although I think a candle would be an issue as there would be a lot of heat trapped inside of it.  Even with a large hole in the top, the flame probably is a bit close to the walls.

So… after all this, the question remains:
“why is Peanut on the sidewalk?”
