I had posted previously in the diet section about Griffin getting into a raw potato and eating some, then he wanted some grapefruit I was eating and ate a few bites- would have eaten more if I had let him.

Tonight I was eating something I thought for sure he would not like- I don’t think our dogs, cats, parrots or other rabbits would straight out eat this item- but Griffin did.  He was nosing to get into my snack bowl- and I thought “ah-ha, get your nose in there and you will not be happy!”  Not only was he not displeased, he was very happy to eat some of my dill pickles!  (little midget/ baby pickles).  I know that pickles WERE cucumbers in their “previous lives” and vinegar was most likely grapes in their “previous life”- but a baby dill pickle with pickle juice in the bowl too- is nothing like a cucumber or grape.

I think I have now seen it all.    And it was not a fluke- he actually ate a bite, chewed, and liked it enough to go back for more.  Maybe the salt and dill were enticing- but I just don’t understand Griffin and his palate!

Haha! Isn’t it great though how different all the bunnies can be?! I read and remembered (for some odd reason…) that rabbits have 17 000 taste buds. Maybe young rabbits are like babies an there taste buds haven’t fully developed yet, so he can handle the vinegar….or maybe its just a unique Griffin trait

This morning, I was trying (unsuccessfully) to eat a piece of multi-grain toast. Well, along hops Calypso, who bites off a corner tentatively. Apparently, he liked it, cause he grapped the whole piece and tried to make a getaway. Unfortunately for him, mom is wise to his food-stealing tricks and cut him off at the pass, where he was forced to surrender the toast. I was nice, though, and compensated him with a baby carrot.

I can’t however, imagine Calypso willingly eating dill pickle… I agree that Griffin has strange taste-buds. Too cute.

It is funny how bunnies can look like they just want to “inspect” your snack- and then next thing you know they have snatched it out of your fingers and are running away with it!  Cotton tried to steal an Oreo from my husband the other day.

Cotton was so picky as a youngster- it surprises me that Griffin is so willing to eat and try anything.

haha! I wish my bunny was sneaky! lol he’s got as much grace as a rhino. but that doesn’t stop him from trying to snag my food dish, or drinking glass and run away with it. It’s like a tug of war.

He tried to eat pasta and sauce the other day. I think he likes the smell of garlic and tomatoes.

LOL!! What funny bunnies! Valen does a carrot dance for a baby carrot, but other than that, mine really only go crazy for the shredded wheat (plain) squares my chinchillas get once a week.

LOL the other day I forgot the vinegar bottle on the floor and Sophie was licking the top I even sprayed vinegar on the couch and she still goes on it and licks it! She also tried dog food, tried to steal my saltines packet, wanted part of my cheese pizza, went crazy when she smelled the chicken treats I got for my dogs, and she loves the smell of chocolate! She gets on her hind legs and sniffs the chocolate away!

Haha!! I can’t believe he would like that! I have to make sure I have all my fingers after giving bun a dried cranberry! I don’t think she would try a pickle!
