So I did a closer inspection today of her favorite hangout, the closet. I lifted up this garmet bag full of clothing my grandma made me when I was a little girl, and discovered this framed jigsaw puzzle that is about 6′ x 4′. It’s very large and used to be on my wall when I was a little girl also…It’s laying in the back of my closet and well……Bun has made a gigantic hole in it. There are little pieces everywhere. I completely forgot the puzzle existed. I think my parents put it together like in the 70’s and framed it…I have no idea but I feel terrible. I thought Bun was being so good too! It’s too big to hide to even attempt to throw away. Sigh I don’t know what I am going to do. She has still been bratty to me since I left her for a week. It seems like our friendship isn’t as strong. I don’t know maybe she has little bunny pms for like a month now. Ugh. At least she has been doing well with using her potty zone in my room.

Oye…that is a bad bunny!     She was thinking…..hmmmmm…look at that….yummy little treat shaped cardboard pieces…..IRRESISTABLE!…Nom, Nom, Nom”

I’m so sorry about your 1970’s puzzle destruction.  That can’t be good.

But as far as your bunny bond goes….give it all a little more time, swoon her with some extra treats and some extra love or just hang out neaby her each day, and you’ll soon be forgiven for her naughtyness in no time. LOL.

I think my parents have forgotten about that puzzle so it shouldn’t be an issue. I mean if they find it they won’t be happy but I didn’t even know it was in my own closet! She’s just been enjoying running around my room and when I try to pet her or give her nose rubs she zips off super fast because I just might be trying to catch her!

I’m sorry about the puzzle. If your parents do find out you could offer to do another one with them to make another good memory.

Also, do keep in mind that you have a small breed of rabbit. She will ALWAYS be bratty. She will have her snugly moments, but they will only last a little while and then she will go back to pretending you are a horrible monster (which she knows you not, but she likes to pretend you are). If you were to ever get another rabbit (that does like attention) she MIGHT get jealous enough to want snuggles for a little while. So just keep in mind that her breed does have an impact on her personality.

i’m just going to throw my two cents in… max is a dwarf and he doesn’t act bratty. how long have you had bun? it took about 2 months post-neuter for max to warm up to me. now he’s very sweet and friendly. i don’t remember if bun is spayed?

those are some things to keep in mind

I’ve had Dono for over 2 years and it is a rare moment when I manage to get a nose pet out of him. But I catch him binkying so I know that he’s happy.

Oh, Naughty Bun! but i still don’t think you have heart to punish her, do you? that’s the charm of bunny.
I re-arannged my house yesterday, because Fluffy is doing a terrible thing too! I have a 5-year-old python, M&M. although he does not feed on rabbits or any other living animal since he’s hatched, although he is extremely tame, he is NOT a vegetarian and is aound 9 feet long! Fluffy, my boy, took his walk and left some deep nip marks on M&M’s wooden cage, maybe indicating “that’s mine!”. that’s definetely not enough to let M&M out, but, who knows what would happen if give Fluffy days? i separated them physically, for ever, not see each other till doom’s day. i told Fluffy, if his cage is yours, you might be HIS!

ooo sorry to hear about your puzzle!

I also have a couple bunnies that are of the smaller size, and I found that one of the best ways to get them warmed up to me was hand feeding treats. If you get the treats from some kind of noisy bag (like Craisins for example) that is even better, because your bunny will recognize the sound of the treat bag and come running. Also, with my smaller bunnies, I found that they like it better when I lay on the floor and pet them. If you think of how teensy they are, we must be pretty big and scary looking to them, so it might just be her instincts telling her to be a little bit nervous around you. I think that as time passes and you spend more and more time together, and learn more about each other, that your bond will get much stronger.

I know dwarf rabbits can tend to be snotty, but before I left she was really sweet to me and liked attention. Now she doesn’t’ want to be bothered and just wants to run around my room all day and night. I really have bad air flow into my room so I don’t like keeping my room closed at night but she is almost impossible to catch these days. I know I am supposed to encourage her back into her cage rather than catching her but she wants nothing to do with it. My closet and bed offer so much more entertainment! She really has a nice temperament and loves nose rubs and pets, but now she’s not so interested in me unless I have veggies. I really think it’s because my mother didn’t let her out for that entire week I was gone.

Lintini, anytime i call Fluffy back his pen, i use treat or pellets. actually, he comes back himself and waits beside his bowl, when heared the sound made by the plastic bag. i think it’s due to conditioned reflex. hope this would work for Bun. she is such a cute baby.

Thanks Lancy I will try the lure technique! Yea I am just going to give her more time, she seems to be shedding right now so maybe ill offer her some grooming and see how that goes. She will most likely be more interested in zooming around. Haha! I don’t really care about the puzzle, I just know that I will hear about it when its discovered lol.
