I found a website that lists safe and UN safe foods for bunnies. http://earthhome.tripod.com/rabsafe.html. very helpful for me as it’s been a long time since I’ve had a rabbit

Does this look like the right amount of veggies to be giving my bunny? I give it it every day (or every other day if I forget).

I need recommendations for grooming products for my new Holland lop. She is 7/8 weeks old. I think I’ll need a slicker brush, comb and nail clippers. Any good brands people like that work well? Also, I use a nail Dremel and have clippers for my dogs but I’m sure those are too big.

I use a nail-clipper for humans. I also use a self-cleaning slicker + a lint-roller for after brushing. I have a comb for one of my buns, the other bun’s fur never tangles so he doesn’t need a comb.

I read that it is alright, just in small amounts. I give my bunnies a dried cranberry as a treat.

Hi! my rabbit Daisy had to switch pellets because the ones she was eating were causing her to have terrible diarrhea but now she is refusing to eat the new pellets. I don’t know what to do so I was wondering if anyone has any tips to try to get her to eat these new pellets.

                          Hi Kourtney

Do you still have some of the old pellets?  If she can still tolerate a small amount of those, perhaps mix a bit of her old and new food together. Hopefully the smell of the one she is used to will transfer to the new ones.

Are the ingredients very different?  For example, the junior rabbit pellets are alfalfa based and adult usually timothy based. Some rabbits take a while to like the adult pellets.

It might just be a matter of offering them again and again. Even if she doesn’t eat them initially, it won’t hurt her, as long as she is eating hay.

My bun Missy is having the issue of not eating hay or barely touching it I really cut back the pellets because the vet said she should be getting no more than one half cup per day but she weighs 14.4 pounds and the doctor said that she should be 11 pounds she is a Flemish Giant. Because of her not really eating hey the vet gave us the critical care stuff didn’t want me to do as much as if it were a sick rabbit but she won’t even touch that I can’t get her to eat that either so the only thing she will eat because she’s used to it if it’s given to his treats and definitely her pellets I don’t know what to do I’ve tried different brands of hay I’ve got it down I have no idea what to do help!

I’ve heard that it’s ok to put some little bits of fruit or their fav treat into their hay to get them to eat it

Have a new bunny (never had one before) he is young prob 8-10 weeks. How much is a serving size of vegetables (lettuce, kale etc) and how many times do you feed them this a day? I get the unlimited hay and then the pellet servings but I do not know how much lettuce or vegetables. Is it like one leaf or like an entire handful size or more? Help!!

He’s too young to be given veggies at the moment. Wait til he is 12 weeks and introduce only one veggie per week in small amounts. Start with a small piece of romaine for example. If no poop or tummy troubles,  increase the amount slightly. Build up over a week. Then introduce the next veggie and so on. Generally it is recommended to have 1 cup per 2lbs of bunny weight but obviously you can’t start off with that amount.

Hello everyone. What do I feed a 2 week old rabbit? I decided to get one from my friend since the mother rabbit died, he said. But I don’t know what to feed her considering she’s too young for veggies and if hay is okay with them, it’s really hard to obtain one here in my country. I’m from the Philippines. If someone could tell me, please do. I’m still researching about what to feed them but I can’t get across something.

Hay is important if you can try get hold of a regular supply.  Grass is good too. If you have access to grass, you can dry it and store also. (Hay for rabbits is just sun-cured grass).

I do recall a member from the Philippines feeding her rabbit kangkong (water spinach) from a young age. I don’t know much about it..

You might like to use the Search feature here on the site to look for other posts but members from the Philippines.
I did a search before using just the word “Philippines”. Just remember not to reply to old threads. If you have a question about something you’ve seen in older forum threads, ask in a new thread and just refer to the old one with a link to it.

Nutmeg has decided that she doesn’t want to eat timothy hay anymore. I have tried different brands and different types of hay with no luck. She just pushes it to the corner of her condo. She will eats alfalfa hay and her greens. That’s it. I’m worried that this diet is bad for her. Any tips ?
