i’m always cautious about unknown emails. Especially ones from doctors of prominent hospitals that use improper punctuation, and send emails to random people they have never met.

No. And if it is then there are MUCH better resources in order to find the dogs a new home. The fact that they list an expensive dog like an English Bulldog that can only very rarely give birth on their own (without surgery) is a HUGE red flag. Also, the story isn’t very clear, and if they really had the dogs they would have listed the way to adopt them now. Do NOT e-mail them back. It’s not worth the risk.

It is weird. Trust your instinct on this and don’t respond. If this person genuinely wants to rehome these dogs (if that is in fact true) then there are other ways to go about it. You have to be careful about posting your email address on public sites like forums and social networking sites. On this site, it is advised not to put email address in a post or if you do to spell it phonetically. For example jerseygirl AT binkybunny DOT com Binky Bunny has warned that there are programs that automatically search online content to gather email information. They can pick up email addresses when written in the traditional format. What seemed odd to me about the email you received was the mention on Yorkies as you mentioned in your intro post here that you have Yorkies. Have you posted in other forums elsewhere about your dogs?

I used to have to patrol my kids’ being online because even innocent-looking places they went would result in a TON of email coming to my inbox that was obviously, and sometimes not so obviously, fraudulent. And it sickens me to think there are people out there who will play on someone’s heartstrings like that to get their identity, or find out where you live, or God knows what else.
Jeez, just spending a few minutes on craigslist or other online classifieds and it’s certain you’ll see stuff like that. Ads that threaten an animal is going to be set loose, or fed to another animal if someone doesn’t come get it or whatnot. It’s sad, really.

This is a common scam. They want you to send them money so they can “safely” transport the puppies to you. You send the money, they do not send the puppy (there is no puppy). It’s to prey on people’s love of animals and desire to help out a homeless dog.

I agree with Beka – there are no puppies!

I don’t even open emails in my inbox if I don’t recognize the sender. You can get your computer infected too. Don’t respond, this is very fishy.

                        ***********

                        THIS IS A SCAM!!!

So many people fall for them please never never contact these types of people. Other common scams include nigerian bankers and people calling about your car warranty, and people selling cars on kijiji, newish cars for under 5000$ (they always do it under that as it’s small theft) and they’ll ask you to transfer money via ebay ( but it’s a fake ebay page).

Definitely a SCAM! Be careful. I would just delete that email and mark the sender as SPAM on your mailbox setting.

Thank you so much! I’ve never gotten an e-mal like this before so I didn’t know what to think. I’m gonna put it on spam in my e-mail. I think a long time ago I went into a yorkie forum but I never posted there or wrote my e-mail. Who knows where they might have gotten it from =S So weird! Thank you!=)

Yes weird.   Definitely a scam and glad you are spamming it.

When a bun I adopted had babies (surprise)  I put ad on petfinder was it?   Well anyway I would get these emails saying they will pay 2000  send it to me then have me cash it and call a shipping company that they recommended to come pick up the bunny and it would arrive there to them.

That sounded so weird.  Why didn’t they just make the arrangement instead of me for 1.   Well whatever

I spammed them.  You get weirdos out there
