so this has been a yucky week for me. school is super insanely busy, my manager at work still hasn’t called me with my transfer information (since i moved i was transfered to a new location), I’m quickly running out of money (since i can’t work yet). And of course, the organization on campus that I have been working my BUTT off to get in to rejected me. So yesterday I decided I needed some Mommy time so I was heading to drive back home, buuttttt the freeway was closed because of the rain. So needless to say, I’m bumming hard.

Today, I was just about to break down into hysteria. I sat down on the ground- and lo and behold, my little Max comes running towards me, circles me twice, and does 4 binkies midst circling. Ahh and life is good again isn’t it wonderful how these little furry guys totally know when we need a bunny hug?

Aw, I can’t sympathize enough. I thank my Frankie-bun for helping me get through some really bad depression and such over the past few years. He saved me from myself. I’d be a whole different person without my therapy-bun!

No matter what you think your breaking point is-your real breaking point is beyond. Ask petzy or anyone who’s been along for my crazy ride!!

I remember watching a lecture by erin brochovitch (The real one!!) and she stated that on several occaisions in her life she had sat in the gutter and cried…and yet ended up a millionaire. It just showed me that we all HURT and can be wounded or devastated big time-and to nurse those wounds. Don’t let anyone tell you they don’t count! Cry if you need to!!

But-get over it-know that you have the strength to! You will go on-no matter what!!!

I guess my point is-no matter the wound you’ll get over it-nothing can overtake you. And your friends will be there for you *HUGS*

                lo —and we are

I can completely relate to what you said, both about feeling down and about having your bun pick you up… I remember one time I was feeling sad, lying down on my bed just feeling oh so sorry for myself. Well, I can’t be sure if Calypso was completely oblivious to my mood or is he had picked up on it and deliberately decided to cheer me up. Anyway, he came up and jumped and flipped and binkied and zoomed around and fell off the bed and sprang back up onto it and did it all over again. When I was finally clutching my aching stomach from the pain of laughing too hard, he came over and gave me face smooshes and tried to lick the inside of my nose. (This is left over from when he was a baby and loved to lie on my chest smooshed up against my face and try to stuff his whole face in my nose… I know, weird little bun.) My point is; I can’t think of anything any person could do to cheer me up as much as watching my sweet little bun jump around like a nutter! lmao. Which is one of many reasons why… I LOVE MY BUNS!!

I hope that everything gets sorted out. I can relate to the school problems and can guarantee that that stress will disappear as soon as the school year is over. lol (I know, it doesn’t really seem like I’m trying to cheer you up. lol) Other than school, I hope you get your work thing resolved. Like Jerseygirl said, I think you need to get on the phone and annoy somebody into dealing with that situation for you. It might be an out of sight, out of mind situation, which is why you should make yourself seen (or at least heard). Best of luck!!!

                  PS What do you study?

                    Hi, Katie,

Totally true about our furbabies. They turn on the goofy switch because they love us. It really, really helps.

I wish Sammy would try to go up my nose!

I met a therapist once who said that being very down at times can sometimes just show a depth of feeling and a full engagement with life. If you reached a breaking point, you’d just be numb and withdrawing. The hard stuff can really pile on and get to you, but there’s always human and bunny support available.

I will advise you one thing: take each thing one little bite at a time. Don’t think about all of it. Don’t look at “the big picture.” Just say to yourself, “today I am just going to do this. For a little while. Just one step.” Then a little reward, like a walk in the fresh air. You will free your mind to handle it all eventually. It’s weird, but sometimes slowing down and ignoring can actually allow you to plow ahead rather quickly and calmly.

yup… my furries have def helped pick up my spirits on many occasions. thank goodness. when it seems like everything is going wrong or working against you, some times all it takes to start to turn things around is to notice just one small piece of happy.

glad your spirits were picked up

Animals just know when you are feeling down! It’s amazing and great therapy and better than ANY medication! I love how receptive bunnies are!
