tonight we’re leaving to go out of town for a few days and it’ll be my first time away from mj since we’ve gotten him! i’ve left detailed instructions with our neighbor (who, fortunately, had a rabbit as a kid), but i’m still so sad/nervous. we’ll only be gone til monday afternoon, but i just think of him not getting to have his play time, full of runs, flops, and binkies.

is it always this hard or will it get easier??

Yes, it is always this hard. lol That’s the sad truth. I went to visit my parents an hour away for one night, and called my boyfriend three times to make sure he knew how many pellets to give each bun, how long to let Echo out for, not to reach out to Echo because she doesn’t know him well enough and it would scare her, etc.

It’s hard to leave our babies; but he’ll be just fine. Try not to worry too much. And enjoy your trip!

I agree, it will always be hard. You’re leaving your babies! I agree the biggest thing is to try and not worry about it, then you’ll make yourself crazy. The sitter that watches my trio had a bunny as a child and she is a great sitter. She checks in with me, unless I call her first. It will never get easier…

J and I might go away in November for a few days to visit my family. This will be the first time we will have to find a bunny sitter after having Kay & Winston for over a year and a half.
I am already nervous about it!!!

I actually think it does get easier. But then, I had my Spockie for 8 years, so I had several occasions to see how it went. Mostly if you feel comfortable with the caretaker it’s not as bad.

My first weekend away was hard-I felt really bad. Weekends or overnight I’m fine with now-and to be honest they probably don’t even miss me (the treats -yes, me? no) LOL

But when i have to go for a week or more-I’m devastated. I take lots of pictures with me so I can look at them and phone my sitters often
