EDIT: I reposted this from the Bonding section (I somehow put it in the wrong place, silly me!)

So I’ve been trying for ages to get a picture of Leroy’s binkies or zooms.  This picture looks like he’s jumping over some of his toys, but I cheated a bit to get the picture.

In the evenings, I’ve been feeding Leroy his pellets by hand.  When I feed the dog, I scoop out his food and rattle the kibble in his bowl and call him to let him know dinner is ready (if he isn’t already around and drooling on my feet), so out of habit, when I got Leroy, I started feeding him and rattling his pellets in the scoop before giving them to him.  So he’s associated that sound with running towards me and getting noms.  At the same time that I rattle the pellets, I call his name in an excited voice.  So now Leroy comes running when he hears the pellets and also when I call his name   Today, I grabbed my camera and put it on the sports mode (to take faster pictures) and then called him with the pellets.  I was able to snap a few pictures as he was running towards me.  I then rewarded him with a couple pellets and ran to the other side of the room, and he promptly ran towards me for more pellets (and pictures!) I usually give him his pellets in a few handfuls or spread out around the room so he has to hunt for them, so it was no big deal for me to spread out his pellets like that.

What would have worked best (and I’ll try this tomorrow when my bf is over) is to have someone standing off to the side with the camera.  Then when you call the bun, the cameraman can snap a picture from the side.  I ended up with a lot of pictures from over the top of Leroy, which looked a bit funny, since you couldn’t see any of his legs

“Not even mommy’s stuffs can stop meee!”

Nah nah nah naa! Missed me!

(And that’s a mountain dew 24 pack cardboard box that Leroy likes to crawl into)

Over the weekend J and I set up a very large box (one side and top open) on a table. I set up a backdrop, some props and my lights. then we got the bunnies!
Kay was not amused.      But Winston was quite the ham.
          Here are a few:

              these are great ideas, barbie!

i want to look into getting video editing software to capture it frame by frame.. it would be so much easier to take a video of the binkies and jumps and then just freeze frame it. though i guess you could do it by playing it on your computer and then pressing pause and print screen.. hmm.. i need to experiment with this more. i’ll post if i have luck with it.

              cute backdrop sage!

Sage, i love the backdrop! I’ll have to try something like that with Leroy, if i can get him to sit still! Corpathina, I’ve tried to video tape Leroy when he’s playing, but I don’t sophisticated enough video editing software to do anything with the vids I take. :/

There has got to be video editing software to capture images frame by frame. But I have not looked.

Barbie – I think it would work like a charm if you had a “helper” with the camera, while you “called” Leroy to you!

The box I used was big enough for the buns to explore a lot – but contain them on 3 sides, it is about 6″ X 2.5″.

I have learned that since there is no way to get the buns too stay still – you have to take A LOT of photos! I took about 100 photos that “session” and got about 10 that I am really happy with. Luckily this is easy to do with digital cameras – you just delete the bad ones!
