How ironic! Actually they are up as of today!! Well, actually this evening!

Though we were bonding, we also were working on better webcam security issues in the meantime. We had deal with some "hacker" privacy and security issues which was part of the delay too. It's still hackable, almost any webcam is unfortunately (so people who have webcams BEWARE! You can have whackadoodles and creepoids taking control of your cameras.)

We did have someone hack in even though we were secured with admin login/password... but as we discovered there are MAJOR loopholes with webcam security....and the way the hacker was trying to aim the one controllable camera, I am sure they were trying to catch more than bunny "buns" if ya know what I mean.

After that I researched and researched webcam security and discovered it to be way too easy to hack into webcameras - Scary easy. So I encourage anyone who has a webcam - whether it be for home security, pets, or just for chatting, to be very aware and research hacking and webcams to discover tips that will work best for your situation.

We have solved the problem well enough though  - the worst and best that a hacker will see now are Bunny Buns.

That is so disturbing! I wish you could have seen my face when I read that someone could take control and try to peep around your house. It looked a lot like .  Glad they are up and working; and more secure, I can't wait to see those two!

They are up now! It will normally shut off early in the am until one of us goes now and turns it on, and since this is kinda of a new procedure, we forgot.

Lintini - Believe me I hear ya with the "creepy" factor!

I have checked several times when I am home, AM & PM, but I still haven't hit it when it is online.

I must try to remember to plug in my laptop at work and check at lunch. Darn time zones.

Rabbitpam - Sorry for the delay. Do you have java script enabled?

I just spent the last hour trying to find the Java add ons for Firefox and IE, enabling them, disablling and uninstalling then reinstalling and enabling them. No luck. When I hover my mouse over the webcam, it says Adobe Flash Player, camera not connected. My JavaScript add on, or the QuickJava add on, does not show in my statusbar even though it says it should.

I think I have a weird glitch, or a secret blocker, or a hex.

The more you know about computers, the harder it is to fix what's wrong.

Thanks, Monkeybun. *sigh*
I just keep trying different log ins, and add ons, and even tried on my laptop with both IE and Firefox today. Nothing.
I may never see Jack and Vivian again! *cries*
Does it help to know that it's not just my home computer?

Well.....uh oh.....so...yeah...hide all sharp objects because.....we may have had the webcams off most of the  day on Friday when you did that, and all day Saturday (possibly Sunday) for updates....GACK!!! Sorry!  I'm ducking now.

....and sneaking away.  (whistling)

JUST FYI - If the webcams are off, it will say "Webcam trying to connect" over three little white screens. Do you ever see that?

Let me know if you are still getting that flash message.

Monkeybun- that's right - when you see the white screen there, that normally does mean the cams are off, not that there is something wrong with them.

Well, it shows mostly white, with Webcam 1, 2 & 3 with a big square white space where the pix should be. Says Connecting to Webcam 1 (etc.), tries to load for many seconds, then that line becomes Webcam Offline.

*don't worry. you're not being followed. just me tippytoeing behind you. no sharp objects. well, maybe Sammy's teeth...*

Rabbitpam -   HAHA! I thought I heard someone behind me!

Sounds like you may be checking in when they are off. What time do you normally look at them? Around 11pm my time, I normally fully turn them off to prevent unsupervised " cam hacking". Also, a couple of times throughout the day when I want to hang out with them, I turn the cams off, but normally around 11am PST - 8pm the cams are on because people like to see them eat their greens in front of the camera.

You can also email me directly to let me know when you are looking at them, and if I am around, I'll double check that they are on. If you can see them, I'll give you a little wave and a "tap dance" in front of the camera (since you will only be able to see my feet).
