OUR FORUM IS UP BUT WE ARE STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF UPDATING AND FIXING THINGS.  SOME THINGS WILL LOOK WEIRD AND/OR NOT BE CORRECT. YOUR PATIENCE IS APPRECIATED.  We are not fully ready to answer questions in a timely manner as we are not officially open, but we will do our best.

        Hello friends!

For Bunny Sake Rabbit Rescue based in Maple Shade, NJ has been in operation for the past 5 years, saving rabbits in the Tri-State (NJ/PA/DE) area.  During this time we have been rescuing abandoned and surrendered rabbits and pulling them from area shelters and fostering them directly in our homes. Now that we have been established some time, we are interested in opening up a physical shelter so we can help more rabbits at a time.

I am hoping to find other shelters who may have done this to get some help/questions answers regarding this process. We know this is a large undertaking and are trying to figure out all of the legal obligations, financial costs, and other details that we need to be successful.

Any and all information would be VERY helpful!!

please email us at [Edit: click Profile button to the left to send an email]  if you can!

I look forward to hearing from you!

          Hi, ForBunnySake,

Forgive me, but I just edited your post to remove your email address and replace it with instructions to just click your profile name to send you an email. BB has a system to protect privacy and block spam by never posting direct email addresses in the forums. I’m sure some of our members with Rescue experience can advise you. And if they want to just post here, that would be helpful for other members to read as well.

You might research the House Rabbit Society,

          http://www.rabbit.org,

for information. Also, many of our members work at Save A Bunny in California, so I would email them for advice as well.
