Animals are so amazing.

This was so surprising to read because I only just read a similar story last week. It was from last year. I'll see if I can find it and link it here.
I wonder what it is that they sense?

Another reason to love rabbits. I think they are amazingly in tune with us more than we are!

I doubt it's a coincidence that both had diabetes. I wonder what change they sense as well?

thats such a great story! and they only recently adopted the rabbit, so it's not like they would have that super strong bond either.

I think we've barely scratched the surface of what service animals can do, it'll be interesting to see what comes about in the future.

With their more sensitive ears, they can probably hear the differences in breathing and heart rate which signals the onset of a diabetic coma. Need more stories like this so people will start seeing bunnies as more valuable pets.

Ever since I got Chacha, I am more sensitive to her and know her specific actions. I think that is not only how I figured out her ear infection, but I just could tell her body language + the human gut feeling. I always follow my gut with her and I was right.

 

I remember one night when Chacha was a little bun, I was crying near her. She was extremely small and extremely scared of me at that point. When I was next to her, she flopped right next to me. This little baby that was scared of me could sense my feelings of sadness, and what does she do? She flops. We all know what flopping means

While looking for it again, I came across a 3rd story. A woman with gestational diabetes that slipped into a coma. The rabbit sensed it and started making a racket which alerted her husband.

When I lost my cat of 15 years this spring, I was in a pretty bad place. The first night I woke up and Tait was snuggled into my neck in bed with me. I think he was trying to comfort me. He had never dont that once before that and never once after that week has he done it again. He, normally, only jumps into bed with me if I'm late with breakfast.

Rabbits are so amazing!!!

I sense that rabbits are just way more in-tune with the earth and therefore life/death than we are. They can feel things that we can't.

Stormy used to be very comforting to me when he knew I was upset. He would come over for pets (so cute how they figure giving them pets will make you feel better and it does!) and give kisses. I really miss those little kisses.
