The breeder just emailed me, she told me all the males are show quality, we put in for a pet. So I guess we don't get one

Haha Nikita me neither! Need to go Christmas shopping!
Aww Hazel! Can't she sell you one even if its show quality? That's kind of annoying. My Apollo is apparently going to be a really good example of a mini lop, a good one for the shows. But I'm not showing him. He's just going to be my little spoiled brat! ^.^

Well, they charge $150 for a show quality, half for pet, so that's kinda pricey. But their waiting list is pretty long, so the show qualities are probably already reserved anyway.

Nikita you're not the only one! They're already calling for snow in Montreal as early as Saturday, and are saying it's going to be a rough winter . Halloween only ended a few hours ago and some of my neighbours already have their Christmas lights up. I guess it's time to pull out the snow gear (yuck!).

How are the winters in PA? I'm actually going to be there (In Philly) for a few days in December.

Winters in PA vary. Last year wasnt that cold, no huge snowstorms. A few years ago it was super cold with a ton of snow. I am hoping for a repeat of last year.

The firs thing I have to do in this thread is a big long noisy...

SQUEAL *HEAD EXPLOSION* SQUEAL *HEAD EXPLOSION* OMGGGG...
Roberta....
I literally just died of happiness looking at those baby pictures. BUN-NAPPING all of NikitaSues babies if they all are that freakin' CUTE!
*Head Explosion* *Died from Excitement* AHHH.

Okay... I'm good now. Just needed to get that out.

ChaCha went trick-or-treating! Hahahhaa. I'm going to have to remember that and do it with my buns next year! I'm so excited for Christmas! I can't wait to get the buns Christmas gifts!!! Our first Christmas with our little bratty family!!!

SkippersMama -- Thanks for the idea, that is such a great one!! I'll make sure to take pictures of everything and post them afterwards! I never even thought about lighting but it's so true! And we are totally on the same page about staying prepared! I read so many of the threads on her just to get an idea of what to do if my bun comes down with one of these illnesses or problems! Don't worry too much about Skipper, We ALL worry about those spays... I was a total wreck. I even bawled when we brought her home.

Now onto November stuff... UGH. November brings my brats turning NINE freaking months old! HOLY CRAP. I just had a heart attack counting that out. OMGGGGGG. My brats aren't babies anymore. WAHHHHHH. HOW OLD did everyone say before they start getting Less Hyper?!?!? Oy vey. Ha!

Nine months old... God, I feel so old. I swear we JUST got them a few months ago.. I Swear!

Awww, Hazel. I'm sorry to hear about the breeder. Thankfully, where we got our buns from didn't have a system set up like that. Especially since Tans are pretty much only show bunnies. Have you checked into other breeders in the area? I'm sorry, I can't remember what kind of bun you were looking for? I may have missed it somewhere along the line or it was a while ago.. I don't even remember you talking about getting a new bun!

FooFoosMommy -- you're from Pa?! I'm from Pittsburgh! Did we already have this conversation? I have a short-term memory! LOL. I'm always forgetting stuff. I do feel like a good number of people on here I've been noticing are from PA though! More than I expected really. This will only be my 2nd winter here but last year was VERY mild! Especially since I'm used to those lake-effect Western NY winters... BRRRR...

Ugh, tonight and tomorrow are going to SUCK! I work tonight 4-close which is about 'til 11 and then go in tomorrow at 6:30am... UGH. Wish me luck guys! But then I get the weekend off! And we're going out to a nice dinner afterwards and then going shopping for stuff for our Murder Mystery Dinner! I'm trying to think of a good outfit to wear (by using stuff I already have). I'm supposed to be the actress/singer character so I'm supposed to dress like a flapper! I have my accessories all picked out but now for the outfit...

November already! ahhh! havent even started with the shopping. On a budget this year so just doing immediate family and the kids. I'll probably do baked stuff/ "gifts in a jar/tin" for everyone else. Christmas is really for the kids and of course the fur babies (who else gets their pets presents?)

Winters here vary too. last year was super mild for the majority. year before we had 4-5 of snow by mid Jan and -30 for the rest!

I LOVE Christmas too! just really bugs me that its all over the stores at the same time as thanksgiving and Halloween. lol

Haha it works out though, that way we can get at least some of our Christmas shopping done without having to fight off the crowds of grinches!! I've already finished half of my Christmas shopping just because I know the malls around here are going to be like zoos.

Lol, HippyHop, of course I get them gifts!! I made Ruby a fruit salad on her birthday this year. What to get her for Christmas? Maybe a candy cane shaped willow twist haha She's actually going to be getting a late gift (BIG though) this year. I'm going to be moving in February so I'll finally have enough space to build an extension onto her cage!!! Yay! I already decided which one I wanted - spoiled girl is going to have an extra 4.5 by 7.5 foot area added to the space she already has. I may be more excited about it than she is when I get it built.

tanlover, thank you. They are Flemish Giants. We don't really have any breeders close by, this one was the closest rabbitry we felt comfortable getting a bunny from, and they are still 3 hours away. The next closest is 4 or 5 hours away I think. But it doesn't matter really, in the beginning we were kind of on the fence about getting one because they are so expensive to keep, so we said we would try one time and let fate decide. Unfortunately that didn't work out so well... Maybe something else will work out sometime down the road, we all know there is no cure for bunny fever

Thankfully, the breeder we got our Tans from has buyers for the two babies they just had sooooooooo I will stop drooling over them and figuring out how to work them into my boyfriends heart, hahahahah.

Imais, Cant wait to see her new home when its finally done after you move. we are going to build a cage (found a cool link online) but its going to be high and long as our house is TINY. then when we move in a couple of years we will upgrade

Flemish Giants are HUGE! ive only seen one at a show somewhere when i was little and it was almost half my size at that age. more to cuddle!

Bunny fever! LOVE it! I always get Hip something to play with at the petstore, his favourite is a small dogs kong with treats stuffed inside, or his bell ball. I plan on trying some willow soon.

I've been having fantasies about a third bun. Then I think perhaps my two wouldn't necessarily want a third wheel in their relationship.

Not much happening around here. I have homework I need to do and I also need to get things together for a conference. The clock is ticking and yet I still have trouble getting motivated to do it. *sigh

Hazel - check out Craigslist and local rescues. There are always large rabbits being given up and in my experience it is so much more rewarding to rescue than to get one from a breeder.

Right now the idea of another bunny in this house is CRAZY to me. I'm exhausted with just 2 thank ya. lol (of course we just did bonding and litter box cleaning so of course I'm going to say that)

I'm a little stressed. Trying to manage it by making tons of list. There's just so much I want/need to do and not enough me or time to do it. AHHH!

I'm would have to agree to Frankie on that one. The thought of any more buns makes me a little sick to the stomach haha. But I do have six at the moment.

I'm so completly stressed at the moment. I'm having to pack up and go to my mothers house because we just found mold and I have to hide the rabbits from the landlord. This means taking apart and moving three cages and six rabbits all in one car. And all this is happening tomorrow. I have one cage taken apart and ready to go but i have to wait til we are ready to leave to take apart the other one. And then the smallest one will act as a car seat for oreo and the babies and thump will go in the carrier. Plus i have class tomorrow so i just completly BS'ed a speech to give tomorrow and I have to get up for this exhausting day in 4 hours. Loving life at the moment.

but its better than having to pay a security deposit of 625 for EACH RABBIT and 50 bucks a month. No thank you

@NikitaSue20, wow thats crazy!! Me and my roommate had to pay a $500 damage deposit and a $500 pet deposit, but that was a one time returnable fee and we have FIVE animals. And the landlord gave us 60 days to pay the pet deposit so we weren't giving up 2 grand in the first month. And our landlord couldn't care less about my rabbits, once she found out they were neutered. She only cared about our cats peeing on things because she's had problems in the past.

Holy cow NikitaSue! That's crazy! How are the littles fairing? They must know that something's up.

Tanlover now that I think about it. They sell these lightbulbs here in FL not sure if they do in Pittsburg but they're called Party Lights. And their colored. Which might be easier then the celophane. I didn't know they existed until a few months ago when my bf said something about them. Whenever we did parties and decorating I've always just used the celophane. =p

I'm a really proud Mama today. Skipper was so naughty this morning but I can't help but be proud that she exercised her little brain and used her critical thinking skills! We let her have the run of the other side of the house last weekend when she was sick to get her belly moving from the running around. We, also, figured it would help with relieving some of the gas. Well, this whole past week she's been trying to chew through the baby gate we always have up to make sure we don't let her out there. We were worried that she would ingest a lot of plastic from the gate and ended up throwing a blanket over it. She wasn't having the blanket. It was royally pissing her off and she wanted on the other side of the gate. This morning she figured out that she can jump over the gate to get to the other side of the house. =p So naughty but so proud of her that she figured it out. xD Such conflicting emotions.

Aw so cute! Naughty little skipper haha.

Ruby does the same with my basement. I live with my parents and my father wasn't very happy when he discovered she had nibbled the mouldings as a baby. Needless to say she's not allowed there anymore. I sometimes bring her on the ground floor when I am watching tv, and often leave the door to my bedroom open when she is playing in there (her cage is also in there). But she knows her way around the house so as soon as I'm not looking she sneaks away to go down there.

The funniest part is that she apparently knows that it's my father who doesn't allow her to play down there anymore(of course she knows I'd like her to have the run of the house) because if she sees him on her way down she scurries back in to my room as quick as she can and lies down near her cage as if to say "what do you mean? I was here the whole time!"

Holy crap Nikita O_O! If your landlord finds out, you have to pay a pet fee?! That is crazy. My current apartment has dog and cat owners paying a monthly fee and also some dog types are banned. I just think that dogs deserve a big yard and place to play in I asked about Chacha before my dad and I moved into our current apartment and we got away with not having to pay the monthly fee due to her being a 'caged animal,' which is utter complete bull

I just finished my Test on 'Assisting with Office/Ambulatory Surgery' and got an 87.5%! Woot! I didn't do so well on the last Test (some of the questions in that test were not even stuff I read in the book O_o) but I still passed it. I will take an 87 any day

As I was finishing up the test, I saw Chacha eat her cecal and make this WEIRD snort noise.. it almost sounded like a fart. After she did that, she went back into her loafing position and is currently sleeping next to me. o_O It totally caught me off guard, but she is fine.

Nikita: that's insane. What is it with landlords and thinking bunnies are nightmare terrors that are going to destroy their property?? My landlord agreed to let me have a bun with no fee provided I keep her caged 24/7. *snort* Yeah like that was going to happen. It's like they don't realize bunnies are potty trained and won't destroy too much provided you give then enough toys. O_o

I feel like I've been absent far too long. I stop by everyday by rarely have the time to actually say hi or do anything besides great new people. My thesis has taken over my entire existence. This is the third weekend in a row I have to write 20+ pages of the first chapter. My eyes may begin to bleed from translating Greek and reading insanely dull commentary (that I don't agree with) on my texts. I'm lecturing for the first time in my TA class on Monday. Super nervous, especially since it's a class on American Religion and that's soooooo not my area.
Cinnabuns' good. Her spoiled attitude is really coming across the past few days. I feel like a bad bun mom somedays cause I'm so super busy and I haven't been able to spend as much time with her as I normally do. She hangs out next to my desk while I work and I try to stop at least once an hour and talk to her.
Well, back to my insanity.

You know Cinnabun you have a really good point. I'm surprised by the amount of lack of knowledge that people have about rabbits! I have now become known as the crazy bunny girl since I have gotten Skipper. (But I only talk so much about her because I want to educate people about proper bunny care.) Any way, I was talking about Skipper at work and there were quite a few people in there and I started talking about how nervous I was about getting Skipper spayed and how proud of her I was with how well her litter habits have been since we moved. They were completely shocked when I told them she lives in a 6ft cage, gets 3-4 hours of playtime (when I'm in school), and knows how to use a litter box to keep things sanitary.

I hope your thesis goes well Cinnabun! =] What are you getting your Masters in and what's your goal in the long run of things? Like what do you want to teach? (Sorry forgot. >.>)

Hahahaha LoveChaCha! That's too cute/funny. Buns are always full of surprises. =p Woot woot on the test! I hate it when teachers but questions on the test when you're like wtf is this? We didn't go over this in class nor was it covered in the book. >.<

Well, things are going well over here. =] Skipper's being a terror wanting to ruin the sanctity of the neutral territory on the other side of the house. (MUST HAVE NEUTRAL TERRITORY! >=O) Other than it's all good. =] Sort of flippin' out over who to take my British Lit class with since both teachers are HORRIBLE. They had terrible ratings on RateMyProfessor. And I've had some people come into work that had/have her....it's just not good news. So I'm trying to figure out if I should take it online with a professor who gives really tricky tests or in person with a professor is just nuts/insane. Dx We're having a house warming party net weekend that I'm trying to plan for. I have no clue what I'm doing. And the house still has tons of boxes that needs to be unpacked. xD I've been trying to put off unpacking so hard core because I just hate it. =P REALLY excited for HALO 4 this Tuesday. The bf, his brother-in-law and I are going to the midnight release for it. =]

Holy crap Cinnabun! That would make my head spin. I was raised with very religious parents and since having grown up and exposed to different things I'm totally screwed up in the way I view religion. So I feel like I would have no clue on how to teach the subject. What in the world made you want to teach Religion? (I promise I don't mean it meanly. I'm just blown out of the water. Well, I went into college knowing I was going to be an ancient history major. Then I took an "Understanding the New Testament" course which proceeded to take the NT and put it into historical perspective. I, having left the church years before and basically deciding I was somewhere between atheism and agnostic, found this fascinating as I had always been frustrated with the differences in the New Testament. And I didn't realize that there were people doing this stuff for a living. I became hooked, especially after I started learning about the texts that are Christian but don't exist in the NT because they were deemed "heretical." I work mostly with texts that aren't in the NT, though I am using the Gospel of John in my thesis as an example of early Christians taking the ways Greeks told myth and making Christian mythology in turn. (PS: totally not trying to talk theology here as I understand people have various level of devoutness, just trying to explain my thesis and how I came to the study of religion). Because I study mythology mostly, my teaching in the future won't be focused so much on the NT itself (though I could teach a course on the gospels if I wanted to...), but I plan on teaching courses on myth, symbols, signs, and other more literary things in Early Christianity and the Greek world. I really hope someday to teach a course on "Myth, Fairy Tales, Science Fiction and Religion" because that basically sums up my entire research outlook.

CBM - I actually think it would be helpful for a person in your line of work to have an "open mind", so don't think that where you are coming from with all of this is weird.

I am in the middle of putting a poster together. I have a conference I am going to in about a week and a half. I have the basic stuff all figured out, now I need to figure out which articles I am going to include in my lit review (at least what will appear on the poster). I want to make sure I'm including important and good examples, without being bogged down with too many since there is limited space. Hopefully I am making sense here. LOL

Thank you again Roberta for the froggie. I am definitely going to include it. =)

On another note, I was contacted for an interview for a job. I was a little surprised, but I responded with days I am available to come in for the interview. Didn't hear anything back after that. Huh.

Today was a horrible day at work. It was not only busy, but some of the people.. why are HORRIBLY MEAN people allowed to go shopping? What do they think they will accomplish from being rude to workers?

As I was transferring my iPhone photos onto my personal laptop, I fell asleep on my bed for half an hour, until my Dad got home from work. Did i mention that he has a new job? He works for the casino now. Good benefits - 100% covered. I told him that he better take advantage of that

I misplaced my credit card someplace in the apartment (oh silly me!) so I had to call for a replacement one. I hope I get it in time for the release of a video game o_O;; Don't worry, I make my payments on time : - D

I'm so proud of myself! I cleaned Chacha's anal scent glands ALL BY MYSEELLLLLLLLLFFFFFFFF! I just put her into a bunny burrito and kept her butt sticking out and held her close, and slowly put her onto her back. I used a little canola oil on a q-tip and got the icky gunk off her glands. ICK! I did not smell anything - I am so happy that she is such a clean bunny She was so pissed afterward! So I gave her a blueberry craisin in return!

Ah, the talk of school I'm in a special grant program based on income, and there is a counselor that helps students meet their goals. She wanted to meet with students one on one to talk about progress. She was so encouraging. She told me that I should not beat myself up so much because of 'all of the students that she has spoken to her entire career from grade school to grad school' she says that I am one that has truly impressed her. She told me that I should not limit myself to wanting to become a Nurse and maybe shoot for ARNP. We shall see though I want to do many other things rather just be in school all the time! It made me happy to hear this from her

Sweets and Bunjamin are so cute

I had to take Chacha to the Animal ER yesterday. She is fine, just an outer ear infection, but she didn't seem to pleased. She was irritated by the fact that she could not get rid of the itch in her ear. I had to call into work and tell them that I would be late, but they called me back a half hour later and told me that my shift was covered.

Chacha is resting and her ears are back to normal, but I have to put ointment in her ear twice a day for 7 days. She'll be going to see her regular vet next week Wednesday. I already know that she won't be liking it. LOL

Aww, poor ChaCha bun. =(

Yeah, so, I'm not sure what I should do. I still haven't heard back about this interview. They said they wanted to schedule one, I responded back saying when I was available, and... nothing. This was last week. I don't know if I should bug them or wait longer. =\

I haven't interviewed with them yet. I have only been contacted wanting to know if I can come for an interview. So it is okay to try contacting them again? I'm worried that maybe they didn't get my message or something.

I don't think it's too early if you just say you didn't receive a time or confirmation and you would like to set one and maybe ask if a certain time and day works for them?

Be more assertive, let them know you're available and willing to interview, don't wait for them to call back again.

LBJ I don't think calling them again would hurt. But I've not had much experience with this sort of thing so I'm not sure.

Well, I'm tired as hell and the bf and I are going to the HALO 4 midnight release tonight. =p His brother-in-law is supposed to be meeting us there so it should be fun. I just need to refuel with some massive caffeine. xD Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. =]

Hi LBJ, I'd phone... You were told they were going to schedule an interview and have not heard. The message may have gone astray and let's face it, it would not be the first time the task of contacting shortlisters was given to a receptionist or assistant and they failed to do it or missed someone.

Very glad I work where I work at the moment. I might be an executive but aside from the fact we can dress casually all week I also get to be a little bit silly every now and then. The MD (Managing Director) sent me vids of the prototype for the new pot lifter (these are ceramic plant pots the size of a small compact car) The video shows one of our Trademart managers and the mechanic testing the unit and making adjustments. I am trying to sync it with a music piece "Yaketysax" also know as the Benny Hill Theme. The Financial Controller, my immediate supervisor and one space between me and the MD walked in and caught me in the process, he was very pleased with the idea. So now I can't fail, FC is as keen for this prank to proceed as I am. If I manage to convert the file and add the soundtrack I will post it for you.

Actually, Its been a week for it. In my other role as Occ Health and safety co ordinator I have created all the induction slideshows and other files. But our OHS rep insists on hoarding the tasks and has been making it very difficult as he is limited in his admin abilities (great guy though and is doing fantastic work) as a little surprise I have EDITED my induction slide show. I have added a new 5 minute safety video he will like and a music track he is not going to see coming. Bwahahahahaha. I just have to get into the lecture room and fix the settings on the laptop attached to the projector before the next induction. Kansas "Wayward Son" and a little AC/DC.

Haven't been on for a few days --- I'm currently attempting to clean the house and get distracted by BB -- but just wanted to pop my head on in...

LBJ -- I would definitely give them a call! It shows you are very interested in the job which always makes you look good and excited and assertive to potential employers.

Hope Miss ChaChabun feels better! Poor girl, such a Diva.

FF, I have been actively watching your posts on Facebook and BB regarding Sweets and Bunjamin and SQUEALLLl -- I'm so happy for you all! They definitely look bonded. What's the new bunny set-up going to be? Or did I miss that some where along the way. I couldn't remember if Bunjamin was free-roam or not or just has his own little bunny room? YAY FOR BONDED BUNNIES!!!!

Anyways, my 1920's Murder Mystery Party went AMAZING! I'll post some pictures from it later so you can all see how it turned out! My boyfriend cooked a 5-course dinner for 15 people -- I"m insanely impressed! It was absolutely delicious also! On a worse note -- we realized last night that our plants have all been attacked by aphids... UGH. So I've been putting in time trying to get all those stupid bugs off the plants. We didn't even notice them until BAM -- they were everrrrrywhere! So frustrating.

I'll be popping my head in later to catch up some more! Also, I just couldn't get my bun to give me a urine sample. And I wasn't going to stress him out by putting him in a separate cage with no litter box. For one, I don't want to put him through that much stress after the stressful weekend they had with our party (they were moved into a different room and were NOT happy buns because of it). And two, they've all been REALLY good with litter habits lately. We've changed around their play area and moved their cage and so far no accidents inside or out. So hopefully, it is just behavior but I've still been e-mailing back and forth with my vet on the situation. I'm worried if I force him to pee in his cage it's going to make him lose his litter box habits inside the cage all over again. Thoughts? He hasn't had any more straining and I've been watching him every time he's peed to make sure he's been looking fine and it's all been okay...

Oh, man... Decisions decisions. The strain of being an overworrisome, overprotective bunny momma...

Poor bunnies, I don't like hearing that people's bunnies aren't feeling well. =(

Today kinda sucked. Being my day off, I was hoping to get some things with school squared away. Instead I ended up having an unpleasant exchange with my adviser. He has made it clear that he no longer wishes to be my adviser. He wants someone else to be my adviser, but this other professor (I know him well) doesn't seem enthusiastic about the idea. I understand he is busy with other students and probably doesn't want to take on another one.

On a lighter note, I don't need to stop at the grocers for Italian Parsley tonight.

They are repotting the herb planters down at the Trade Nursery and Beau the manager brought the Italian Parsley up for my buns.

I have included the spare office chair for scale.... The current cost for a small bunch of italian parsley is about $1.59, whilst its going to seed on top the rest of the foliage is perfect long leafy stems all dark green and crunchy. I estimate I probably have about $70-$100 worth of parsley, if not a bit more.

LOL... If it didn't need to be washed first I could throw the bag into the playpen and Pipi, Pepper and Blossom could have swan dived into the bag. (Which is what they do with the poo bag when I try to clean the hutches and habitat) I got it home, laid it out on the lawn and gave it a good hosing then took the scissors to it cutting off the best bits. Don't know how I am going to get it in the veg keeper. I may have to share with Rabbit Rescue down the road, I usually do an extra big wild fennel harvest every few weeks sO I can give them a big chiller bag full. Now I know they have the herb pots set up at the Trademart I might have to go down at lunch on Friday and pick back the plants. Just to keep them healthy !

Roberta, HOLY PARSLEY! Hahahaha. Lucky, lucky buns!

LBJ -- I'm currently in the process of attempting to register and go back to school this coming semester. It's pretty frustrating but hopefully it all works out -- for both of us! Good luck at the conference!

And the party was definitely fun! As soon as I upload the pics on my computer, I swear I'll post them on here so everyone can see! I just haven't gotten around to it this week. Blah, I had Tuesday off from work to go to the dentist so I thought I'd have 3 days off this week but my boss asked me to work Saturday night now also since someone took a leave-of-absence so looks like I'm not going to get a nice weekend this weekend! I hate working at nights, especially on the weekends. I feel like I have no time to do anything.

Hope Warri starts to feel better and has no more seizures!

I e-mailed the breeder we got our buns from and I asked her about any health issues that Tans are more prone too. She said it's hard to tell because they are mainly show bunnies and show bunnies lead such stressful lives that they typically don't live as long as they should. So there's not a lot of talk or really any on what Tans are prone too. Looks like I'll just have to wait and see! She said the longest she's had one of hers for was 6 years and they sent it to a pet home and she's still doing really healthy. So fingers crossed for the Tans!

Smudge is fine, she bounced back just a few hours after I posted about it... silly girl. I did give her simethicone and a tummy rub, so it was probably gas or something making her not eat. I slept on the floor with her that night, and she woke me up with binkies all over me lol.

Randomly going to hop into the conversation, mainly because that's just the most parsley I've ever seen! I keep imagining bunny's diving into it...though frankly mine would likely just make a hole in the side of the bag, tunnel in and then you'd just be able to slowly watch the parsley disappear into the bag, haha.

At least it has distracted me from thinking about Benji who's still at the vet getting neutered today, I can't wait to have him back home later! No matter how much I trust my vet and how many times I've been through this before, I still feel like a nervous wreck about it!

I'm Emily, my bunny's are Abigail, Rorschach and Benji. They're all mini rex's. I've had Abigail for 2 years, Rorschach for 1 and Benji since June. =) They're all hilarious.

tanlover - You're wanting to go back to school? For what?
I don't really know what to think right now. I feel abandoned. Graduate school was probably the biggest mistake I ever made.

LBJ - Why is it you feel abandoned? If that's me butting my nose in where it doesn't belong feel free to ignore me.

Now, this will sound lame I'm sure, but I always try not to think of anything as a mistake per se. I think everything you do in life eventually leads you to where you need to be or gives you something you wouldn't have otherwise had, whether you see it at the time or not. So maybe graduate school is just a stepping stone to taking yourself somewhere else!

Hazel - Thanks! I'll let them know you think so!  Though their ego's are already fairly large from me telling them how cute they are all the time, haha. Benji is a tri colored mini rex actually!  The breeder I got him from specialized in the tri-color variety of mini rex's. All of his siblings were much more white with fewer speckles, so I just instantly fell in love with Benji the second I saw him. But I mean this is what he looked like the day I got him so there was no way one couldn't fall in love with him!

Photobucket

He was so small and considered the runt of his litter. I love his coloring, especially now that he's a bit older and the color has gotten richer he either reminds me of Lassie with his white paws or sometimes he reminds me of a tiger when he's lying down because his black spots on the sides practically look like strips going onto a white belly, haha.

You're not being nosy. I've talked about this one here before, but if you haven't been around much then you might not know. So don't worry. It is hard not to feel abandoned when you get dumped as a TA and then your adviser basically says they don't want to be your adviser anymore. I guess graduate school itself may not have been a mistake, but graduate school at this particular location was definitely a mistake. I can't do much about it now though. I am all but thesis right now, there is no choice but to move forward.

Your bunnies are adorable by the way. I love the coloring.

LBJ - It's your advisers loss then! Maybe that's not a particularly helpful comment but you seem nice and ambitious so I'm certain that it's true. There are other advisers out there so maybe you'll find someone even better. Think of it this way, in the grand scheme of things, going to that specific location and this part of your life is only one small fraction of your life overall.

As I said, I think you'll get to where you need to be eventually.

And thanks! I think the coloring of my bunnies is gorgeous as well, especially Benji.  Speaking of, he recently arrived home after a long day at the vets, his neutering went very well and he's already eaten a bit and pooped so I'm excited! (..really never thought my life would come down to being excited about a rabbit pooping but there it is!)

Hi Ravishing, My little blighters are divers... Pipi has nailed the perfect belly flop from a perch on the day bed 4 feet away square in the middle of the bag of stale hay, paper and poop. It's like a mission for them. Pepper does laps till she builds up speed and can get a clear flying leap at the bag. It would be thoroughly disgusting if it wasn't soo cute.

A long and very trying few days... Can't really post this anywhere else due to confidentiality but need to vent and get some vibes. Had to do a summary dismissal on a staff member that has been with the company for several years. It was bad, but she had put herself in an untenable position. Even then management was ready to offer her a lifeline due to her service but she put them in a position where they had no other option. Due to our interaction I had to absent myself from the meetings (which I thought was a good idea) and I insisted my male counterpart be present. These things are touchy and you have to have witnesses. Part of my job is to guide the owners through these minefields and I've had to write a lot of these letters but this one was hard. I liked the woman and whilst we weren't close friends we got on well. It has been very hard as I cannot even contact her, worse, I may have to give evidence. This is one of those days my job is not so great. Going to put my OHS, IR and HR caps away in a dark closet for the weekend and try to do some happy things.

RavishingRabbit -- Oh god. They are ALL absolutely gorgeous! I'm so jealous. They are pure beauties! And I completely agree with what you said to LBJ.

LBJ -- I'm trying for Accounting. But starting completely over. I can't get my transcripts from my other school because I owe them $4,000 so I'm starting over completely from scratch at a community college in Pittsburgh. Going for my Associates in Accounting and then **HOPEFULLY** transfering to another school here for my Bachelors in Accounting also. Hopefully. It feels so hopeless having to start over from scratch but I guess I don't really have a choice since I have no way to pay the $4,000 right now. It will take me longer to pay that off then it will be for me to just finish school, LOL. BLEH.

Roberta, that sounds stressful. Sending lots of destressing vibes your way! <3

Also, glad to her Benji is doing well!

Is anyone else going to see the new Bond movie, Skyfall?? I'm so excited to see it this weekend! I've only seen Casino Royale but LOVED it (my boyfriend made me watch it this past weekend so I'd understand more about this coming one!).

I think my bun buns are getting out of their bratty teenage stages! YAAAAAAAYYYYYY. Both the boyfriend and I have noticed that they are starting to take a lot more floppy breaks in between running around like crazy chickens with their heads cut off. They still act like crazy rabbits but definitely a LOT more breaks. Ohhhh, it's so refreshing compared to their bratty baby bunny 'tudes! AND it's so nice because they love to flop right down next to us! Still don't stay down longer than a couple minutes but those couple minutes do a lot when you're used to not even a minute of solitude with them!

Otherwise, she cleans herself thoroughly after I put her back on the carpet. She is cleaning the human cooties off of her, LOL! If she gets a clean bill of health, mommy is going to go birthday shopping for her Her birthday will be on 11/24, which is a Saturday. Also, my photographer friend agreed to do a Chacha photo shoot with me next Thursday if the bunny is feeling fine. I haven't had one done since early 2011 so I think it is time. The photos always turn out great and the photos will be a reminder of how much she means to me.

My neck has been hurting me when I wake up in the morning, which means it is a sign that I need to get a new pillow! Gah!

Yesterday I did something I've wanted to for ages... I walked in and told my boss what I thought of the place and resigned.

Bit of a back story, I started the job as a casual shelf stacker in June last year, the people who hired me gave me the impression that I would be able to multi-skill and work in other departments. Well that never happened and in February and March this year they put my hours back to once a week, then once a month and last shift I had there was the middle of June... nothing since.

Talking to the boss apparently it's not my fault and 'restructuring' is why I never got any work... but they hired 2 new casual night fillers and gave them shifts (probably cause they're related or best friends of the management), I also said that the anti discrimination laws seem to be a joke there as both my fellow workers and those higher up make snide remarks and comments about the openly gay manager there, the boss told me 'he doesn't mind, in fact he gives as good as he gets', I told him I don't care, I have family and friends who are gay and I find it offensive. Also suffering depression and having my hours cut to nothing has not helped my depression and right now I'm in a big rut and I know that if I went in and worked and a worker made a snide remark about anything I'd snap and probably get my self fired, so I left on my terms.

I really want to get my head together before I even start looking for a new job.

Yesterday though I did have a smile, I decided to lie down next to the girls' crate and little Thee sniffed me before hopping over and had a hop around on my belly before going back into the crate, Seph wasn't quite sure but came over to the crate door and sniffed at me. It was so adorable!

Roberta - Ha! Your bunnies sound hilarious! I'm sorry about the stressful time at work though, that sounds awful. I hope things settle down for you.

Tanlover - Thanks for the bunny compliment! And I'm glad Benji is doing better as well. He seems practically like his old self today already, hopping around his area faster than I'd like him to, haha. He's not eating as much hay as I'd like but he's eating some and has been munching on his greens and pellets on and off throughout the day so at least it's something.

I'll be going to see the new Skyfall movie either later today or tomorrow actually! I can't wait, I'm sooo excited. I loved the other ones!

Lovechacha - I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Chacha on Wednesday!

Toady - Kudos to you for quitting! That sounds like a crappy place anyways so you're better off without it, and I can't stand people who discriminate like that so I would've hated being around that too if it were me. I'm sorry about the depression, I used to suffer from that for years myself actually when I was younger. I realize we don't know each other but if you ever need someone to talk to feel free to send me a message. I think quitting a job like that though is definitely a step in the right direction if it was making things worse for you and it's always good to prioritize yourself, your health should come first! Your Thee reminds me of Abigail, when me or my boyfriend lies down on the floor she always climb up on us, haha. Alternatively if either of us hunch down on our elbows and knees she jumps up on our backs, she's so silly. She reminds me of what lion tamers do with the jumping up on our backs like that, haha.

Agh! This is not a good day. Seems like I don't have any good days anymore.

I got another nasty email from my adviser. He says he is ready to resign as my adviser and basically threatened me. I just can't deal with this right now. I am so busy for the next 10 days and he keeps saying he is available at times I am not. I don't understand what the urgency is.

jeepers! i miss a couple days and look at what i miss! whew!

gotta say, OMG BENJI IS DROOLWORTHY! what a hunk! (of course Abigail and Rorscach are beauties too but wowza) glad his surgery went well.

Hippy went in on weds for his pre-op and omg was he mad at me after. Kicked the vet in the chest a few times and thumped for a good 5mins after he was done being examined then gave himself a good long washing after flipping his "paws" a few times against the carrier. he is now back to normal and running bunny 500s in the kitchen whlle the kids chase him. (its a new game they play, Mags will let him out of the pen and he does zoomies..they chase. they stop, flop and he does binkys or headbuts until they go again.) He also got his first taste of willow and LOVED it..and he got a new ball for bing so evil to the vet, his first jingle bell ball which he picks up and throws for about 15mins evry few hours..ahh i love my buns.. cant wait to get another once he is healed from neutering, goes in on the 27th..Im SO nervous..any advice?

Aww, I would definitely love to squeeze those bunnies. They are such cuties. Not that mine aren't adorable. I hope things work themselves out. I just didn't like the tone of the email. It was rather confrontational. I have been given an ultimatum and I don't feel as though it is deserved. I've been going through a rough time lately. I couldn't even think about my thesis, so I didn't see any reason to keep updating him with nothing every month. It isn't like I never communicated with him at all though, just not every month.

HippyHop - Thanks! Haha. I agree, I think all my buns are gorgeous but Benji certainly is something special as far as looks go! My buns all love willow as well, at least the unpeeled kind, they don't care much for the already peeled type. I get them the unpeeled willow balls every now and then, but at around 3-4 bucks a pop they're kind of pricey given just Abigail alone eats the entire thing in like an hour or two, haha. I assume you mean advice about your bun going in to get neutered?

LBJ - Haha, well they would all love a squeeze too! Well, aside from Rorschach, he's not the cuddliest of bunnies. He likes to be petted, but only for shorter periods of times and mainly at his choosing, haha. Abigail and especially Benji though will just sit there and let you pet them FOREVER. I barely even have to touch Benji and he instantly flops down to be petted.
That sucks that your adviser is being the way he is, you would think he could chill out a bit. I'm certain things will work out though.

Tanlover - To update my previous post, we went and saw Skyfall earlier! I liked it a lot.

Hi LBJ, Is it possible that it's the way your adviser has written it, this is why email etc can be misleading. I have often been accused of being abrupt, overly direct or rude simply because I have worded something badly, well, not badly but in a manner that was not necessarily familiar to the recipient, in an effort to keep it short and failed to use emoticons. This is not saying anything negative (cos I just read through what I wrote and could see the potential there for confusion, I'm getting better at reading these things ) I know how hard you're trying and the crap you have had to take fro some others. Just offering a possibility. Can you schedule a face to face to get some clarity ?

LBJ -- Yeah, I was emancipated from my parents when I was 15 so lucky me, I've always gotten pretty excellent financial aide packages.

RavishingRabbit -- Just came back from Skyfall and absolutely LOVED it!

And to the above conversation, I HATE cold weather. Thankfully the past few days in Pittsburgh have been really nice. High 50's and such. Can't complain since it got sooooo cold after Hurricane Sandy!

I love the 4 seasons that Washington gets, even though most of the time it is pretty rainy and cloudy. I am thankful for it -- it could be a lot worse, but it isn't.

The Mister and I are going to Seattle tomorrow for the hell of it. I think we are going to this huge Japanese market in downtown Seattle and doing lots of walking around and window shopping. I need to pick up some stationery at the Japanese bookstore. SO MANY CUTE THINGS   I wonder if I will find the seasonal Japanese kitkats there

I think I might see Sky Fall tomorrow

This may sound like a stupid question -- but how hot is too hot for our little bun buns? I've never had the problem to worry about since we've almost always had air conditioning the whole time we've had them since April so I'm not really sure. But since we've had air conditioning our place has always been set at a steady 70-72 degrees F. Except now that they've turned it off for the winter and the heating on it's about 75-76. I see my buns lounging around a lot more on the plastic on the bottom of the cage so I wasn't sure if perhaps they are getting too warm or what -- I'm probably being WAY over protective butttttt I can't help but wonder if I'm torturing them and should give them some cold ice water bottles or something? Opinions, thoughts?

Hi Tanlover,

80F or 27C. They like Coolie bottles from about 25C so you could put one or two in the area and they will decide if they want to lay on them. Thankfully my new bunny room stays cool, before the back room could get to ambient temp which was on one occasion 45C. I spent the Summer without any form of cooling whilst the buns got the swampy to keep their area comfy (worked too, I kept their immediate area around 28C and would go through about 15 coolie bottles a day with the help of a neighbour coming in to change the bottles during the day)

Goodness things have been crazy for me. I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing semi-well. =]

TL you have to post pictures of the party! =] I'm glad it went well. Good luck on the accounting! We have several people coming in for the economics side of it. It seems all really interesting. But to be honest my brain has a really hard time wrapping around the math behind.

LBJ is there no way you can transfer schools? I know it can be a massive pain in the ass to do but if you feel like you might get better guidance somewhere else it might be better. I hope things get better! I kind of want to punch your advisor in the face. =p

LHM that looks like the weather we've been getting here in FL. Just not as cold and a bit warmer. I don't think the state knows the true meaning of a cold Christmas either. =p

Welcome Ravishing! =] (Back I guess is a better way to put it. ;P)

LoveChaCha I love Japanese stores! I really miss the Japantown in SF that I would go to with my family as a kid growing up. There was this really cute Japanese bookstore/stationary place called Kinokunia that sold the cutest pens and pencils. I've been dying to go back there since I moved but we just never seem to find time. =p (Honestly spending all our time trying to eat as much Asian food as I can when I visit home.)

This week has been exhausting. I really need to find a hematologist near me. It's been a while since I've seen one for my blood disorder and it's really taking a toll on me. This past week I've been getting this sleepy spells. Where I'll start getting really foggy and need to lie down right then and there to sleep for hours on end. It's something that's happened before so I'm not freaked out about it. I just need to get my blood work done and get things squared away. Mainly because it's been affecting my school work and I've missed classes because of it. We lost power for the first time too! 8O It was the oddest thing. Fun and odd and freaky all the same time. Now we know we need to buy a few things. But we packed up Skipper and left for my bf's parents' house so that way she could sleep with some light. It's just too dark where we live to have her sleep with no night lights.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Thanks for the info, Roberta. I'll probably stick some in there and see what they do with them. I did it for like 15 minutes the other day to see if they'd decide to and they didn't but I was nervous to leave it in there since they are such little chewers. I can just see Tanger taking his little chompers to one of them and flooding the bunny condo, hahahaha.

SkippersMama -- I just hooked up my phone to my computer when you said that -- so photos are coming! I'm just waiting for my computer to update iPhoto since apparently it needed to be updated and it's taking forever so I probably won't have time to add it into this post but I'll do it as soon as it updates fully! It says it's going to take a half hour, pftttt.

Toady -- I've been thinking about it! I spent my time searching Target yesterday hoping to find a bunny tree ornament so the buns could have their own bunny ornaments on the tree but the BF said we should just order some off-line because I definitely didn't see anything of the such at Target. Booo. They even had lions and such! But no Bunnies! I was showing my BF yesterday how I wanted to get some of those tunnels and cat play things for the buns for Christmas. Not the expensive ones but the cheap ones. I've seen some people here use them for their buns and I used to have one for my cat and ferret so I think I've convinced him to get them! I keep meaning to make the buns their little destruction house out of a cardboard box so I'm debating whether to just wait and make it for Christmas or not, hahaha. We decided to put up our tree right after Thanksgiving -- wish us luck that the buns don't decide to get out and tear the thing down! It's right on the other side of their play area, haha!

tanlover - They should be alright. You can give them a cooling bottle or a slab (my buns have a Chin Chiller). If they want to lay on it, they will.

Toady - It will probably be treats for the dog this year. The buns need some new toys, so I will have to check some stuff out.

Skippersmama - I can't transfer now. I am all but thesis, I don't have any classes left to do.

Hi Bunnygirl, They might... I know they have some excellent goodies on sale at the moment but I don't know if they are putting the in the garage sale. If you wanted some you could pick them up from there on the day though. Check out www.facebook.com/rabbitrescue they have the most adorable beds and soe other accessories. I saved about $15 on some special butt shampoo for Blossom Grotty Bottom "She who sits in her cecals" You should see the pic I won at their auction. Go into my profile, in the albums you will see auction pics. I won the Prada Collection. I'm drying some fennel at the moment so I will have to figure out how to get some to you. DON'T POST YOUR ADDRESS ON LINE... In fact don't even post it to my messages. We can work out something where you can come down with your Mum or Dad to my place or the rescue, I'll also have a trade card for the wholesale nursery so you and your family can buy plants (incl Parsley etc) at trade. If you're doing up the garden at the new place it will be a Godsend, fruit trees, landscaping plants etc. Have a look at www.benaranurseries.com

So, I have calculated there are now 3 pay days till Xmas... Aside from the logistic nightmares this presents at work with transitioning to the new collective agreement I need to think about Xmas shopping. The great nieces are sorted. This years theme is Kaleidoscope, the girls are getting little kaleidoscopes, brightly coloured jewellry sets, little shoulder bags etc all packed into bright gift bags. I am ordering an antique copper kaleidoscope for my elder sister who likes funky unusual things and need to find something equally unique for my other sister. Mums easy, she likes clothes. My niece...urgh, she's a nightmare to buy for. My other nieces and nephews, I'll come up with something but it must be colourful to the point of kaleidoscopic !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let the shopping begin, bring on the bargains !!!!!!!!!!! this is urban consumer warfare at its finest !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the trade card you can go to either the Carabooda Trademart (which is closest to you, 5 minutes up the road from the Hester Av, Wanneroo Road junction) or the Forrestfield site (Cut lunch and water bag from here) The reason I don't want you messaging your address is, if someone was to hack our files an adult could manage, I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do so I'd not only cope but beat the stuffing out of anyone who fronted up at my door with malicious intent, but for you it would mean not only a threat to your privacy but also your parents. I know you would figure that one out but it never hurts to remind other's about protecting themselves and their families by maintaining anonymity. Ask your Mum what days and times suit and we'll set a date. I spend Saturday morning taking my Mother shopping and visiting Dad in the nursing home. We'll sort something out. I'll PM my mobile and my direct work number (don't have a home landline and the reception number is on the website) so you can reach me, make sure you give it to your parents. Sorry, I'm rambling but I like to keep my friends safe, young or old.We have some awesome miniature apple trees at the moment and apple sticks make good chews. I'll find some home drying sites, I have fennel etc worked out but not sure how to dry the apple sticks but it can't be too hard.

Some drunk frat boys walked into the main lobby of my apartment complex this morning (at 6:30!) and pulled the building fire alarms. I was not happy. It was 20 degrees outside. Cinnabun and I sat in my car while the fire department checked everything out. UGH! Stupid stuff like this keeps happening. I really wish my complex would get their act together and put a lock on the front door. Anyone can walk in and it pisses me off. Poor Cinnabun. She didn't understand what was happening with all the noise and cold.

When we got back inside, after about a half an hour, I unlatched her carrier in my bedroom to let her have free time; she came out of the carrier, instantly turned her back to me and gave me the over the shoulder/I'm showing my disapproval for your existence bun-atude. It took a cranberry and nose rubs to make it better.

Thanks Jersey, me too

We met a vet appointment for them though. On my vet's very last day (then I'll have to go to a new vet :'( ) They both feel too thin and Sweets drool marks are still prominent. So wish us luck that it's nothing and I'm over-reacting.

BUT seriously. This vet thing is depressing. We need a support group for people who lose their vets.

FF -- I would literally collapse in agony if my vet up and moved. Literally, I think I would go into a bout of GI Stasis. LOL.

I finally made the buns a cardboard diggy house. My BF was all Blah Blah Blah -- they have enough toys! Which they do but they don't play with any of them and my buns are definitely explorers. They love new places to explore and climbing. I put the diggy house in the area this morning and all 3 have been sitting in it and on top of it and hanging out of it all morning long! I was clearly right on this box... the buns LOVE it. Shockingly, I had put a phone book in there too along with all the stuff for them to dig in and some hay and they haven't even touched the phone book yet! Too busy digging around in all the hay and CareFresh. LOL. It's too cute.

Poor Cinnabun. I can only imagine that little bunny butt giving you the cold shoulder, hahah. Every time we had to drag our buns out for fire alarms they weren't very happy either. Thank goodness it's been a long time.. especially with winter coming. I'll murder anyone who wakes me up and forces me out into the cold.

Finally got my FASFA filled out and hopefully I'm going to be able to register for classes soon! Since it's my first semester, I have to register in person and not on-line which sucks but whatevs. I wanna start school again sooooo bad. I'll have a mental breakdown if this doesn't work out correctly and I have to wait even longer to start... BLEH.

Wow CBM, that really sucks. I'm glad we at least live in a house.

tanlover - Is that a new FAFSA for this year yet or next year? I know normally you have to fill it out by the end of June and that is for the following fall semester. It might be different if you have a quarter system.

So the conference was insanely boring. I was so mad because they told me I needed to be there early (7:45am). Hardly anyone else was there with a poster. I put my stuff up and went in to where a speaker was. I just about fell asleep. LOL When they finally had a break 2 hours later, I went out and found all the other poster people had at some point showed up. The formal presentation wasn't until noon, so I don't know what I was there so early. Apparently no one else felt the need to follow instructions, so why did I bother?

I will be leaving soon for my interview. Hopefully this one goes well.

I decided that Peppy waking me up multiple times every morning was getting a little ridiculous...I can't recall the last time I woke up when I wanted to without her bothering me first. To prevent this, I pulled out my ex-pen and encircled my bed before I went to sleep, and all was good for a few nights. Then I realized that somehow I've become the one sleeping in the pen while Peppy runs around all night. Funny how that happens...

Peppy: HAHAHA! Spoiled bun!

My first chapter of my thesis is done! It's 61 pages. The entire thesis is only supposed to be 70 pages. I have four chapters to write. Heh. This may be a problem.

I'm officially into Week 8 of this 12 week quarter. The load has been a lot easier, but I'm still quite tired.

The holiday season is here! I can't believe that next week is Thanksgiving for some of us American members on here! O_O It is kind of early this year, huh? 2 days later is Chacha bun's 3rd birthday. I just ordered her some "Hoppy Birthday" edible bunny cookies off of the bunspace store. I also got her name in cookie form too, along with some hay cakes. She will also be getting a big buffet of vegetables. I'm kind of a broke mom until I finish school, so I think she will approve of what she is getting.. maybe, lol.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 came out a day ago. The bf and I went to the midnight release of it.

In my Clinical Class, we are learning about Pharmacology or the study of the different types of drugs. It makes me do a lot of thinking. I really enjoy the subject. I will be dealing with a lot of drugs as patients will come in and be on plenty of them! So my duty is to learn what the basic common meds are and how to pronounce them. Good thing my teacher put up links HOW to pronounce some! O_O

Today Loki had a good hop around the study while I cleaned out his crate and I managed to pluck out most of the old bits of his last coat that made him look a bit shaggy. This evening I decided to let the girls out of the crate and put the play pen up... well they're still a bit too little and managed to get out between the wires and between the crate and wall, then when I tried to get them back in Thee would go in with no worries but Seph refused to go in, took me quite a while to get her out from behind the crate and to the open crate door, then of course Thee decided to hop out as I got Seph in. Thee also hopped on my lap and let me give her a quick and light pat. They're now back in their crate and eating dinner.

Little stinkers!!!

I think I do Roberta, I stuck a heap of shade cloth around the bottom rung of the crate to stop them getting out but have discovered that they much prefer to gnaw on it even when I sewed it on with cheap yarn... little buggers!! I think I'll be putting some fine chicken wire to stop them getting behind the crate and the same around the Xpen, they won't be able to get their teeth through that as easily.

Also Loki's new crate was sent off today and should hopefully be here on Monday or Tuesday, I've decided that the 2nd level I made for the girls crate is going to go in his new one, he'll appreciate it more than the girls at the moment

Poor little Warri... Do you think the pending seizure may have played a part in the ear biting. Maybe he was feeling out of sorts which caused him to bite Peepi.

I was actually thinking it could be the opposite, that all the fighting and chasing could have been too much activity for his brain and contributed to his seizure. No more seizures since though, so yay!

Warri goes to the vet tomorrow for his acupuncture. I try to take him in every 2 weeks, but I kept forgetting to make his last appointment so its been a month since his last visit. Between all the fighting, chasing, seizure, and the missed appointment his back has been pretty bad and he's had a hard time getting around. He also keeps stepping in his cecals which then get stuck on his foot so we've been having to clean his foot lately too.

need to rant a little... my paranoia goes further than just as a bunny momma. I had this contact at the company I want to work for who urged me to apply once I was done my DEC and she basically guaranteed me the position. I sent my CV in on Monday, directly to the director of the department I would be working in, and haven't heard anything yet I don't want to call her again to see when I should expect a call - don't want it to seem like I'm nagging. Gonna be so upset if they don't call me - I wish she hadn't gotten my hopes up on this one!!

Peppi and Warri -- I hope the acupuncture session goes well. Where on his body does he get the acupuncture? Does he stay still? Chacha had it once and I was so shocked to see how still she sat. I just saw Dr. S on Wednesday and she told me to continue giving Chacha the ear ointment and she prescribed some oral metacam. If the infection does not get better, to keep giving her the ointment until I take Chacha back on the 28th. I am crossing my fingers that Chacha gets well. She has always given me problems with her ears and I hope she eventually grows out of it or something Some buns just have continual health issues for unknown reasons.

It's raining and I don't think anyone is going to complain as we've had months of dry weather and water tanks were running dry and people had to buy water to fill their tanks.

Bunny wise, all's going well, the girls are 12 weeks old today and I put them on the scales. Athena is about 750 grams and Persephone is just shy of a kilo, they're growing slowly but I don't think they'll be huge bunnies. Got some lovely scratches from a pair of nervous nellies

Bianca is adorable! We have a bun at the rescue I work with that would probably be considered a red too. She's so sweet but it's gotta be on her terms of course and she loves pets, she just doesn't like it when the pets stop

I admire what you do for those buns Mike. The idea of fostering is becoming more attractive to me. I'm just worried about getting attached.

So we took our buns to their vet today (on her last day too. Still really upset about that). We took them because I noticed they both lost weight. She gave them a full check up (and only charged me for one bun for recheck so it was really inexpensive comparatively- another reason to love her). Basically the news is that Bunjamin's points on his molars may never be an issue and he might not ever need surgery on them. He may but it's possible he won't. Sweets on the other hand will most likely need to go under anesthesia within the next 3-4 months. I'm to follow up with new vet in February. Basically my vet said it's a symmetry thing. Bunjamins points are small and symmetric where as Sweets are longer and only on one side. I don't like the idea of either of them going under anesthesia though :/ She also said most likely with Sweets this won't be a one time thing.

That is really admirable to do the fostering thing! I would never be able to do it myself, I would guaranteed get way too attached and wind up having WAY more bunnies at home than I ought to. It's the same thing that keeps me from going to shelters etc, I would wind up coming home with a LOT of creatures, haha.

Number one sign I should go back to bed? Let Cinnabun out of her pen, got in to do some cleaning, my leg got caught on the top of the Xpen as I was getting in, and I brought the whole thing crashing down, puncturing several areas of my leg as I proceeded to fall on top of it. Poor bun. She was sitting nearby and looked terrified.

He gets the acupuncture along his back, hind legs, and his head. Lately he's been getting electro-acupuncture, so he looks like a frankenbun! He stays surprisingly still which is good because with all those needles in him I'm afraid to touch him anywhere except his shoulders. I hope Chacha's ears get better!

Leopold is hilarious. I needed to grab him tonight. I normally try to sneak up on him, which is fairly easy as long as his back is turned to me. Well tonight I went in there and he was half in and half out of the hay box. I don't know if you guys remember, but I cut holes in the side of a box (looks like a bunny face) to make a hay holder. I thought, okay, I'll just grab him now. I grabbed him and went to pick him up. Only problem was the box was "stuck" around his head. I pulled him up close to me, box and all. I called my husband and he came to help pull it off. Turns out he had a hold of the flap inside the box with his mouth. What a stinker! I think he was thinking he could deter me or something.

The past 2 days at work have been absolutely absurd. It has been busy, which isn't new to me because this week Thursday is Thanksgiving. I had a couple come through my line and I made one little mistake while ringing up their items, but I fixed it. They did NOT understand how I fixed it, and as I was TRYING to explain to them how I fixed the mistake, they KEPT CUTTING ME OFF! I wanted to scream at them. The manager told me to void the whole transaction out and re-do it. At the end of the transaction, the husband says "Accuracy brings people back." I wanted to say: "DO YOU WANNA DO MY JOB FOR A DAY? FOOL, YOU WOULD FAIL!" Instead, I turned my head away to wait for the receipt to print, and rolled my eyes. BTW, their mistake was fixed and the price was the SAME DAMN price the first time. Do people like them just totally get a kick out of insulting cashiers? They should find a new hobby.

I am done with work until Black Friday.

I'm enjoying my smirnoff and my vegetarian sloppy joes. BURP.

LoveChaCha - I had a lady argue with me a couple weeks ago. She had bought a bunch of stuff the day before and came in wanting a price adjustment because she found an ad for 20% off. I said it was fine. I returned everything, rang it up again, and took the additional discount off. Then I refunded her the difference. Then she sat there staring at the receipt and told me it wasn't right. It was. I sat there for a good five minutes trying to explain to her what I did. Finally she seemed satisfied and went away.

i'm looking at 12+ hour days (including weekends) until at least dec 10th, that's when it started to taper off last year because the international people figured it was too late for delivery. what really sucks is i'm missing what may be the last solid week of 80's temps.

What is the cloth - white with blue design - that's on the floor? I like it a lot, and wondered if it's a sheet, or linen or what?

LongHairMike, I'm on my feet in a little box so not being able to move around is a pain in my butt if you ask me :p

I did my first injections in class yesterday It was an intradermal injection, similar to a TB test. I did the first on a classmate, and the second on my teacher. She said that I did well on it. One of my classmates put the needle in too deep and I started cussing out loud with the teacher near me. What do you expect me to say? "Ow, that didn't hurt?"

December 7th will be the 3rd anniversary of my Mom's passing. My grandma just told me that she requested it off at her job so 'Think of something that we should do." Well, last year, I got my second tattoo. This year, I want to get my third tattoo. Last year, my grandma insisted and bossed me out of paying for my tattoo So I left the artist a tip instead, lol. This one will be a portrait of Chacha. I don't want to be unreasonable to my grandma, so I am going to consult with my tattoo artist on how I want the tattoo to look like and the pricing. I know that portraits are pricey, so I might wait until I get my tax return in February instead.

What do you guys think of this angle? I'm going to bring in several photos to show my artist. I think I like this view best of Chacha, but I will bring in photos of her ears and an up close photo of her eyes. I want her brown eyes to pop! Also, I want to have her frown showing because it shows her 24/7 disapproval of me. OH! And what do you guys think of having a Queen crown on top her head? Just a small one, of course! The tattoo will only be of her head. I plan for it to be on my back or my left ankle. I'm kind of conflicted as I want my left ankle to be a piece for my Dad in the future.

longhairmike, I just saw your video and pix of Bianca on pg. 7. Those are great!
What is the cloth - white with blue design - that's on the floor? I like it a lot, and wondered if it's a sheet, or linen or what?

those mats in the play areas at TT are small plastic tubing all woven together,, like the lawnchairs that you sit in and they stretch, then when you get up they slowly slink back to their original form.

Ahh - haven't been on here in a week or so... and it feels like a lifetime.

I was also wondering if Bunnygirl had brought her little Apollo home, Roberta! I hope so and I hope all went well!

Ugh, I'm so angry! So the breeder we got our buns from had told us all about Tans and blah blah blah -- well, my boyfriend was searching information on Tans and such and found this website for bunny breeders who discuss the different rabbits and breeds and it turns out the breeder we got our Tans from HATES Tans and even went so far as to say she wishes she never would've gotten into breeding the Tans because they're really aggressive and not good bunnies! I'm so angry I could just go right down there and smack her. First of all, WHY on earth would you continue breeding these bunnies then?! > And SECONDLY, she is utterly and completely wrong! My buns are INSANELY loving and have barely been aggressive about anything!!! Don't get me wrong, they are insanely hyper and I would never recommend them to someone who isn't ready for a very active, hyper, attention-needing bun but they are WONDERFUL buns. They won't sit in your lap and cuddle but they're always looking for attention from you and trying to get you to play with them... it just irks me! Especially since I offered her $100 (when she sells them for $30) for the last bun of the litter which she decided to keep to breed and she wouldn't give him up! URGH -- GIVE ME THE BUNNY, YOU DON'T EVEN LIKE HIM! It's so frustrating. I don't want him living with her when she doesn't even like his breed. My boyfriend and I could give him such a good home and life and we've wanted him for the longest time now. She could buy 3 of him with the money we are offering her so why keep this one when she's not even crazy about his breed? Argh. It scares me also because on the website we found her remarks she was speaking very poorly of the mother of my buns - whom she just "retired". I'm now insanely worried that retired ultimately meant killing her. She talked with so much love for the other breeds she breeds so WHY so badly about my Tans!? I would never give my buns up, for anything. It irks me that she's talking so badly about them but then populating the earth with more of them while at the same time strongly urging people about what horrible buns they are...

End rant. For now.

Hope everyones week has gone good. I spent the beginning of my week getting two teeth pulled out and it's been bothering me all week so I've been doped up on Vicodin.. which I'm not enjoying either. Oy vey.

TanLover, breeders are kind of eh.. I don't know. I don't want to lump them all in one because that would not be fair. Sadly, I think that people breed just for the money. It makes me sick and that is why I intend to go to the shelter to allow Chacha to choose a friend. Chacha bun is a breeder discard because 'she isn't show quality,' and the whole show quality thing makes me ill, so I have vowed to adopt from shelters. Ow! Good luck with the tooth extraction. Are you getting your wisdom teeth taken out?

Work was nutty today. I had a bunch of crazy customers. Some were fine, others were very odd. I am so glad to be home!

Guessssssssssss what?

Gasp ChaCha 3? How does that happen?!!

Tanlover, I reckon it really does come down to what effort you put in for your rabbits. You guys love them and they are social because they respond to the attention you give them.

It makes me sad that the breeder is probably not socialising the Tans she's breeding -if she still is. They need more attention then perhaps she's willing to give?...
I think they are regarded as one of the "fancy" breeds. Did she get into breeding them for showing I wonder?
Hopefully she'll just stop if she feels that way about the breed. Better off being undertaken by someone who has more passion about Tans.

Whoever says "It's only a rabbit" has obviously never loved a rabbit.

Not wisdom, just two regular teeth in the back. One is a molar and the other was a root canal that my last dentist apparently didn't do a very good job on. So this dentist I'm going to now, my boyfriends uncle, just took them both out. For some reason it's still bothering me quite a bit! I had them removed on Monday though so you would think I wouldn't feel anything by now..

Oh god, ChaCha! Happy Birthday! I can't believe she's 3 -- although, I can't believe my own buns are 9 months old already. *sadface* I feel like we just got them not that long ago and we've been rabbit owners for 7 months now! Goodness, how the time really does fly.

JerseyGirl and ChaCha --- they are regarded as a "fancy" breed and she definitely got into them for showing. She had told me that they also make very great mothers but from her post she definitely didn't give that impression. I'm just really frustrated. Despite the fact that she's a breeder, I've ultimately gave her the benefit of the doubt and always held the impression that (from what I've seen) she treats her buns well. Our third Tan was EXTREMELY social when we got him and he's not scared of new people at all, he's a very curious little bun. The only one of ours that was skittish was our girl but she came around very quickly after she was spayed. It just irks me that she hates the breed so bad but is willing to keep populating the earth with more? Why do that if you think they're such BAD rabbits (even though they're not). She also stated on the post about how she would never recommend this breed as a pet rabbit and should only be kept by breeders. Then WHY lie to me when I was obviously a first-time bunny PET owner? She just seemed very nice, educated, and good to her bunnies despite the breeding that I tried not to judge or anything of the sort. We REALLY want the other Tan she has and would give him a great home if she ever decides to give him up. Le sigh. I'm really holding out hope. She just had a litter but thankfully, the mother only had two Tans. But one of them wasn't show quality. Her black coloring had some Tan streaks through it - I had e-mailed her an update on my buns and to see what was going on with the new litter she had and THANKFULLY they're BOTH going to a pet home. I was so happy to hear that and they're going to a family. So both buns will stay together and be pets! Thank goodness for them not being bred. It's basically just a huge rant for me, and I'm sorry for everyone having to listen, but it's one of those things that really just makes me mad. I feel I've always given her the benefit of the doubt and turns out she lied to us and HATES the breed. I'm so glad I saved my little three babies from her and a breeding life. So happy. My babies are amazing!

BARGH on breeders.

It's snowing here.. BOOOO. I hate Snow! Hahaha. But I suppose I'll have to deal. Snow and coldness seems to have taken over! The buns got Thanksgiving a day late -- the store was closed so we couldn't get them any goodies to put in their salads when we realized we had forgotten! So yesterday we went out and got a huge bundle of cilantro since they haven't had any since we restarted our AeroGardens. They went nuts. Cilantro Crazy.

tanlover: I'm sorry your breeder turned out to be a like that. Since she didn't tell you about them being "horrible" pets, I guess she was just in it for some profit and doesn't really care where her rabbits end up.

The Flemish breeder we were dealing with gave me the same impression, just trying to make a buck. So even though we didn't get a bunny, I'm kinda glad it fell through. I'd rather not support someone like that.

We got our Siamese from a breeder, we did TONS of research and thought we picked a good one. We drove 5 hours over there to get her. Well, she turned out to have parasites, a hereditary food allergy and Pica.

Long story short, we know how hard it is to find a reputable breeder. I hope you don't feel bad about getting them though, they needed a good home and they sure found it with you.

I have mixed feelings about breeders as well, I don't think all of them are bad, but most of them come off as super friendly like they care and I always wonder how much of that is just their game face for convincing you to buy a rabbit form them. I got both Rorschach and Benji from breeders (separate ones), and where Rorschach came from it was pretty obvious that they don't really handle the rabbits all that much. He's still kind of skittish around people, but not nearly as much when we got him.
The breeder I got Benji from told me on the day I had picked him up that when he was only a couple weeks old his foot had fallen through the bottom of the grates of the wire cage they had because he was so small (I hate that people still use those but why on earth would you keep baby bunnies in them??), and his foot had gotten stuck there. By the time she discovered it his foot had gotten swollen from him trying to get it out and she told me she had to break his foot to get it out. It's one of the most horrible things I have ever heard. and I'm horrified that my poor little creature had to go through something like that. I would have cut that cage to pieces before ever even thinking about doing something like that as a solution.

Wow that's so sad! Seriously, breaking his foot is the solution, instead of getting a wire cutter?! I don't see how breaking his foot would do any good either, if anything it would make the swelling worse... Poor baby

Whoa, that's awful! I agree with Hazel- How did she not think of just cutting the wire? :/
I got Yuki from a breeder as well, luckily I think she was good. She did show her rabbits though, so that might have been another reason why she took better care of them. She was really nice when I adopted Yuki from her and I thought (at first) that was it but a few weeks after, I contacted her to ask her a general question and she was just as sweet as the day she made the sale. I do think there are a lot of breeders out there that generally don't care though. I'm just glad to have came across a good one. :]

OH MY GOODNESS. RavishingRabbit -- that is horrifying, no wonder your poor little bun is so skittish. That is really just horrifying. I should be happy that as far as I know my buns didn't have anything like that to go through! That's just... insane really. How could you do that to an animal unless it was the only possible way to get him out??! That just gives me chills..

Hazel, I DEFINITELY do not feel one ounce bad about getting my little brats. I love every little bone in their bodies and would never let anyone hurt them. (You should see how paranoid my BF and I are when we let them out and people are over). We have strict bunny rules people who come into our house must follow. I can't even imagine how it could be for them if we wouldn't have gotten them. AHHH, I love them so much. Just last night Tanger hopped in my lap and started licking and nudging my aching mouth with his. Like he knew I was in pain and wanted to help me. My little rugrats are three of the best things to come into my life, hands down!

Poor little Benji, Glad he's with you now and having a wonderful life.
Jebediah (cat) managed to get his foot stuck in a lamp shade as a kitten. I had a new one in the spare room waiting for the base to come out of the kiln after glazing. I heard a thump and yowl and Jebediah came bounding out of the room with the new lamp shade attached to his foot by the base ring. I didn't hesitate, I scooped him up and ran for the neighbours. By this time he had his teeth embedded in my arm and scratched deep into my wrist. The neighbours must have thought I was insane at first standing at their door screaming for a pair of wire cutters. They hesitated not wanting to wreck the lamp shade but I insisted they cut the lamp to bits so I could get his foot out unharmed.

Hubby and I keep saying the same thing about our cat! She's had so many problems, one time she came very close to death, we can't help but feel that she might not have made it if we hadn't picked her. We'd never give her back, either!

How sweet of Tanger to worry about you!

Everything here is going along pretty well, poor Loki is not liking me at the moment cause I'm harvesting his fluff. I had someone interested in some of his fluff to try for use as doll's hair, I noticed that his new coat is starting to come through so I'm trying my best to clip him all over but he was getting stressed so I stopped for today. He looks funny with a white body and the dark hairs popping through. Pictures soon

eeep..tomorrow morning is the big day.. Hippys getting nutured. anything i should really do today? vet said there was no need to fast him as rabbits dont vomit. he goes it at 830am and we pick him up at 3-330pm. Got him a new carrier as he didnt like the big one we have for the cat so he's got a little one for critters under 10lbs.

biggest worry for tomorrow is I have to walk him home! I could leave him in the van or maybe at the restaurant in the back room but that means at least 3 hours in the teeny carrier :-( i just cant see myself doing that to my poor baby! everyone think he'd be ok for the 25min walk home? its supposed to be cool but not bad (high of +2 or something with a chance of flurries) Vans at the shop first thing after we drop him off to the Vet. I plan on putting him in the Chariot (think bike trailer, its covered) and letting the kids walk....just totally stressed about stressing him out after the surgery. my bffs are both working or they would drive us home easy!

Oh and before i forget. we are getting or building his new cage soon. went to Pjs and they have the Critter Nations which is about the size i like. or we are building him a 2w x 3 or 4 L x 3 or 4 H condo made from those grid thingies. thoughts? Whats any ones opinions on bottom levels to solve scattering? wood or that coroplast "stuff" (no idea where or how much it would be here in Ont) if i couldnt find coroplast would laminate work?
Id love pics of ppls cages for ideas. :-) we have a limited width to work with hense the 2 grid measurement..a CN would fit but it would be a tight squeeze. Ill upload pics of what we are using for him in the meantime

I used to work for a design company whose main client was a major professional beauty supply place, which ultimately meant we got to work with a ton of different major brand names, you'd be amazed at just how much L'Oreal actually owns. At least it won't guarantee that Urban Decay will stop being cruelty free as L'Oreal does have some brand names that are that way..but obviously if you don't want to use any of L'Oreals sub-brands or whatever you want to refer to them as because the parent company still does animal testing then I guess you're out of luck unless their deal falls through. =/

The thing is, Tom's of Maine and The Body Shop were also bought by L'Oreal, but their profits still go to L'Oreal. UD will now be available everywhere and animal testing will likely be allowed depending on which country it is. Some countries require animal testing before a cosmetic is distributed. I just won't be buying cosmetics from UD. It is sad. I really like their colors that they offer, now this.

Last night, I was cleaning Chacha's water bowl and I accidentally dropped it onto my big toe. You can only imagine all of the nice words that came out of my mouth as I doubled down in pain >_< !!! The water bowl is not light -- it is actually that cabbage bowl that you see a Petsmart. I now have a bruise on my left toe and couldn't work out today because I am now limping! I have to work later, but thank goodness I am stuck in a check stand and not walking around lol.

Chacha's follow up is on Wednesday. I believe that her ear infection is gone. She is no longer shaking her head, itching her ear, or pinning her right ear back. She itches her ear typically after I pet her, which is normal, as I think some fur got into her ear

The holidays are officially here. That means busy work, but as long as I have my water bottle next to me, I am good.

Yeah, I know, that's definitely a possibility. At least last time I checked L'oreal has cut way back on animal testing so perhaps in the not so far future they'll stop altogether. =)

Haha, I have the exact same bowls for my buns! They definitely aren't light. I hope your toe feels better!

LOL I have the Carrot one for oreo. I've almost dropped it so many times. And as for rescuing pets, We were once watching a cat for one of my moms friends and my mom called me saying she couldn't find it. So i walked home and as I'm walking home i realize the cat is on the roof of our four story home. My mom lives in a condo so I actually had to break into my neighbors house (she was at work) to get to her attic and save the cat. I was terrified it was gonna jump when i opened the window. I swear it's tail was puffed for days. I finally got a job which i think i cried when they told me because i've been searching for nine months with a very displeased boyfriend.

The runt is finally gaining weight which i'm very happy about. But I have had no luck finding them a home and idk how much longer i can keep six rabbits. A pet store offered to take them off my hands but i'm unsure for obvious reasons. But i seriously don't want to end up with six full grown rabbits. NONONONO i got a stomach ache just thinking about it.

I decorated for christmas which was fun and very cold lol.

They probably felt confident that you wouldn't try to rob them with a cat attached to your arm

We were so worried about one of our gerbils last night, shortly before we were gonna go to bed she started getting lethargic and just seemed to be quite out of it. She did eat some treats we gave her, but very slowly and without enthusiasm. We felt that she might just die during the night, they are 3 years old already. Well this morning she looked a lot better, she's up and about and back to cuddling with her sister, whereas last night she kept to herself. Poor baby, I hope she is ok now.

Where's bunnygirl?? She should have Apollo by now, right? She's required to share the bunny cuteness with us!!

I know, I'm dying to hear from BunnyGirl!

We had a bun heart attack the other night. Sidney came out for play time and she peed on the floor (which is very unlike her) and it was almost white and pastey. So I immediately e-mailed my vet since it was Sunday night about bringing her in the next day. Thankfully, she informed me that it was probably excess calcium and poor SidSid probably just didn't drink enough water the day before. She said we could bring her in for an x-ray if we wanted -- but that she suggested keeping an eye on her and seeing if it was a one-time thing. If it becomes continuous or even a few times then we should bring her in. But one time was okay. Thank goodness. Her activity hasn't been off -- she's been eating fine and drinking fine. And the past few days her urine has been normal so I'm assuming it was a one-time thing. I was so worried for her though!

I swear, these buns are going to give me high blood pressure! I'm always so worried when something seems wrong with them since they can go downwards so quickly!

Ah, the occasional white pee! Even little Chacha gets it now and then

Chacha had her follow up appointment today and she was given a clean a bill of health! She also may have an environmental allergy and the vet recommends a HEPA filter for my room. So I know that I will be asking for X-Mas

I went to this family owned grocery store today and surprise! It has a bunch of organic food, and caters to vegetarian and vegan needs. Also, there is a deli upstairs with lots of cruelty free beauty products! I bought some of this dairy free yogurt that my work is no longer carrying, along with a pot of wheat grass for Chacha, and some radicchio for her. I also bought a sandwich -- falafels, veganese, carrots, lettuce, and cucumber on wheat bread. My mouth was in heaven.

I spent the morning being lectured by my adviser. Basically he wants me to consider not doing a thesis. You know, since I am such an "unmotivated" student and all. He also wants me to get this whole adviser thing figured out, meaning I need to find someone who is better suited to meet my needs. So yeah, that was fun.

Now I'm getting ready to leave to give a presentation for class.

ChaCha - Wow, that sounds like a nice place.

Hi LBJ, The guy sounds like a thorough knob. I have a friend that would offer him a very colourful suggestion on what to do with a fish fork but I won't repeat it as we have minors on the site.
Do your thesis if you want to I am sure you will nail it. If your demotivated its only because of the negative people arround you like your adviser. Take their negative energy and use it to fuel your ambitions then you can thumb your nose at them.

Tan lover, I second ChaCha on the white pee, I use the pee as an indicator for my buns diet. Any time we get white I cut back and high calcium foods and up the dark leafy greens with a higher water content. Red pee means too many craisins, orange is too many carrots, Brown is "What the heck have you been eating when I wasn't looking?" which results in a thorough search of the playpen.

I'm happy to say that i've gotten more interest in the babies. One girl said she want one but she said her last rabbit was 2 or 3 when it died. But she said it had internal problems. Should i give her the benefit of the doubt? I mean the fact that she knew i didn't like the age she told me seemed better like she knew it wasn't supposta die that young. I'm too protective i think

Roberta - Haha! Yeah, I want to do my thesis. My lack of motivation isn't as it appears. I don't think he understands the personal/financial issues I have been having lately.

Nikita - What do you normally ask people who are interested? I guess it is good that she was at least honest about her rabbit dying. And sometimes they do die at a young age and there was nothing anyone could do.

Nikita, that's great that you're scouting out homes! I think asking her about how she took care of her rabbit is the most important part - try as we might, sometimes rabbits do leave us early. Both Tammo and Milo were about 2-3 when I lost them, poor babies .

LBJ Excellent... Now big deep breaths and sit down and reread it a few times. When you say you don't know what it means is it you don't understand what the job is, it's a resposne to one you interviewed for and you think you have it but aren't entirely sure, or is it a new lead ????

Hi Nikita, Can she be more about the internal problem, if it was a generic condition from birth it was probably beyond her control. I'd give her the benfit of some doubt based on further information and how interested she is on having some fact sheets and instructions on the current care of house rabbits. Maybe go to her place and view the set up. Ask her where she is going to buy the food and supplies, does she have a vet in mind etc.

Roberta - It is a job I interviewed for. I'll pm you what they said. I don't know if this means they are interested in me or if I am reading too much into it. LOL

Thats what i was thinking. I wanna give her the benefit of the doubt because she seems really nice and i was thinking i could send a folder with research in it and a care package with pellets, veggies, and hay with every rabbit. Maybe just a little nudge is all people need. And most people i meet generally don't know the proper protocol.

Congrats on the email =D i definably feel you cause i just spent a good amount of time searching for a job.

Hi NikitaSue, That's what I did with mine. I did up a fact sheet with everything incl bunnies birthday, where to buy food and supplies and the names and addresses of rabbit savvy vets in the area plus site links. I can send you a copy of mine if you want and you can just rejig it for your area.

Send the stuff to me and I'll do it Mike! Man I need to get out of the Bead business into the doll business

My big exciting news is I won $100 off a scratch off last night. Boyfriend was sent with money for powerball tickets and scratch offs. Funny thing is he bought one of the wrong tickets, which ended up being the winning one. He tried to buy it off me so he's a little jealous it won
I told my family that this probably makes me and the michigan lottery guys even. This is my biggest win but I've played quite a bit lol.

Two weeks left of school. A month exactly until the wedding. After that, I can finally relax...

That sandwich sounds sooo good, ChaCha! And your comment about white pee made me feel better, hahah. I was hoping I wasn't being a bad bunny momma by not taking her in. Her urine has been completely normal since though but I cut back on the kale a little bit just to be sure. Yay for ChaCha's clean bill of health!!

Roberta, HAHAHAHAHA. You are cracking me up today! HAHAHAHAHAHAH. Bunny ninjas and fish forks! And I have to agree with Roberta, LBJ. When people have no faith in you or your abilities, it's very unmotivating and I can't blame you and neither should he. He gets paid to help you, not bash you. That's just ridiculous. Definitely use his negativity to fuel yourself to be a great job and prove him wrong!

Brown results in "what the heck have you been eating when I wasn't looking?" hahahahah. I will definitely keep this in mind. And the red pee from craisins! I definitely had that freak-out before and was convinced he must be internally bleeding. I was in hysterics for about a half hour when I googled and searched everything I could find and figured out it's not blood and he wasn't dying. These bunnies make me feel like such a spazz attack sometimes!!

NikitaSue -- You may be toooo overprotective but aren't we all?! I would be such a pain if I had a litter to get rid of. You have to have a lot of strength to be going through all of this -- I'm very proud of you! If she's a good candidate, maybe you could ask her to send you updates for a few weeks to make sure he's getting a long well along with a bunny information packet to all your adopters with your name, e-mail, and maybe even this site! That way if they have any questions or don't wanna keep the bunny, they'll give him back (or ask you) before just leaving it outside or worse. I know even my bunny breeder does this -- asks that if you're getting rid of a bun to just give him back to her rather than dumping them off somewhere (even if they are neutered or spayed) and she will happily take them back. For her it's probably just to resell but atleast you're giving them options to help or take the bunnies off their hands if they change their minds. It may put your own mind at ease too. Even explain to them the types of care they need beforehand and say you just want them to be prepared because they're an oops litter and you want them going to good homes.

Also, LBJ -- that e-mail is excellent! I'm so happy for you! I've been so blah about applying to jobs lately, it gets so depressing! And sorry for the 2nd response, I'm responding to these posts as I go through them! As I haven't been on in a couple of days!

Also, sorry for my long response to you Nikita! Everyone already suggested these things pretty much but they were thoughts as I was scrolling through the posts!

Mike -- Ditto what LBJ and Ravishing said. I could use some extra cash! I hate that my boyfriend makes so much more than I do! Not him for it, I'm happy he's doing so well but man... sometimes I feel so lame for not contributing much!

Yay for relaxation FF! How is the bonded buns doing???

And for anyone who doesn't know! I may be able to buy that lilac Tan I've been drooling over for months and months now! The one I never shut up about! She's considering giving him to me after her mid-January show which she is breeding him to a Blue Tan right after that so I'll know soon after if she's going to part with him and give him to me or not! I think it depends on how many babies she gets -- since she said she is willing to sell, just wants to build up her Lilac/Blue Tan herd a bit. Cross fingers for me!

Also, I'm FINALLY reading the 5th book in the Game of Thrones series! Ahhhhh, soo good and I'm only like 100 pages in out of a 1,000! The BF bought it for me since he lost a bet with me on Black Friday! AND then surprised me by buying a book based on the TV show Boardwalk Empire. Not sure if anyone watches it but I LOVE it and it's not a novel but more like a history book of that time and all the gangsters! So excited. Which reminds me I still haven't posted those pictures from my Murder Mystery Dinner! I haven't posted them on my Facebook either though. I'm going to have to get around and do that ASAP since I promised and never delivered!

Today in class, I learned how to do a dorsal gluteal and ventral gluteal injection. It was not that bad, but my hands were a bit jittery since it was my first time doing the procedure. My classmate said that she didn't feel a thing. She had to do the procedures on me and I didn't feel anything at all O_O;; the more that I do the injections, the less I become afraid of needles.

Just an FYI, Chacha will be going for Santa photos on Saturday morning

I'm excited because it's been 3 weeks since Benji was fixed so it's almost time to start the process of bonding him with Abigail & Rorschach! Waiting has been sooooo hard. I'm thinking I'll work on Benji & Rorschach separately first though as I think Abigail is going to be a lot easier due to her super easy going nature. I'm also hoping the fact that they've been living mostly in the same room with just cube grids to separate them will mean that it'll go easier overall since there has been plenty of sniffing, no real aggression and occasional bunny plops near/next to each other. Not to mention I've always had the water/food dishes all placed close together during feeding time etc since I figured even if there's grids separating them that maybe the social behavior would translate anyways...at least in my head that makes sense, not sure if that's how the bunnies feel too, haha.

Gonna plug my Finn really quickly because I'm one proud bunny momma!

We have a cat litter box mat outside on the porch dubbed "the pee mat" because the cats pee on it if their box is too full. it was out there to dry, but Finn started using it as a bathroom. so I cleaned it again, folded it up, and placed a litter box on top. He has used it EVERY SINGLE DAY. There are NO accidents in the house (as long as the porch door is cracked) and he ALWAYS makes it into the box.

Love him... SO PROUD!

thank tan lover for the encouraging words and i soo soo agree. I'll definitely be telling them that i will always take them back no questions asked. I've just grown to love them so much and i'm so scared they will end up unhappy. I've put my heart and soul into making sure they are happy well rounded rabbits so who ever taken them home has a happy rabbit ready to socialize. i feel like so many breeders don't care how the babies end up and i just want to add four more happy well rounded rabbits to the world. I just want them to have better beginning then oreo and thumper did.

I'm having some health issues so i'm stuck on the couch right now debating whether to order a pizza or not. I so wish i had health insurance so i could just go to the doctor and figure this out but i gotta wait just a little longer. I've been utilizing herbs to make up for the lack of medical attention but i'm scared this last herb i tried messed me up somehow. i took it last night and when i woke up i have odd problems. so idk if i can take it again tonight but i loved it last night. the problem is the herb could have caused it or the problem i'm taking the herbs for could have caused it. i'm not sure what to do. But my bigger concern is how am i gonna do bun maintenance tonight if i'm stuck on the couch.

picked up an industrial sized garbage bag of shredded paper. The guy was more than happy to let me take it, even if he looked at me a little funny. Can you say free litter for the next 4 months??

Also, I'm FINALLY reading the 5th book in the Game of Thrones series!
Lucky! I'm still stuck on the 4th one... The 3rd was great, but this one is kinda slow. I guess I'll have to hurry and finish it and get the 5th!

I hope you get that Lilac, I wish she would make up her mind and let you have it already...

LBJ10: Good luck with that job!

We ordered a sushi set and it came yesterday! I'm so excited, can't wait to try making some sushi!

Thanks, Hazel. I agree!

The fourth one really dragged for me too but the beginning of the 5th one (so far) has been excellent!

And sushi? AH! I've never dared to try it!

Yay for free litter!

And you're welcome, NikitaSue!

Yay, Finn!! I know the proud momma look when they finally get that litter box!

Wow, so much going on in this thread. I have so much work that still needs to be done by the end of the semester. I feel so tired though and I don't want to do it. LOL I have a take-home exam due on the 5th and a paper due on the 10th. I haven't started either one. It is just so hard for me to focus on stuff. Especially when things are dancing about in my head all the time. Oh well.

I'm trying to think of what to get the rabbits for Christmas. They have naners coming out of their ears, so I was thinking some toys. They are also getting some indoor/outdoor carpet put in their room. My husband wants me to pull up the old carpet. I just hope the indoor/outdoor stuff stays down. I don't have any way to attach it to the floor. We don't want to ruin the hardwood floor anymore than it already is. Personally, I think it's a lost cause.

Tanlover, you've never tried sushi? Go try it! Some are cooked. It is deliciousssssssssssssssssss!!!! I live in a diverse city so there is so many food choices to choose from. All this food talk makes me want a Vietnamese Banh mi sandwich *DROOL*

There isn't much going on with me! Tomorrow is Chacha's santa photos as I said before. One of my customers that I talk to regularly (she is a bunny person and volunteers at the shelter) told me last minute that there is a Bunny Spa day tomorrow T___T If I had known, I wouldn't have made plans after Chacha's Santa photos. I want to get some X-mas gifts for Chacha.

Well to add some contrast to the sushi love I can personally never eat it again because I got bad sushi the first time I ever tried it, I was REALLY sick for an entire weekend and couldn't keep a single thing down that whole time, haha.

I haven't noticed -- have you started the bonding with Benji yet, RavishingRabbit? Since his neuter? I can't remember how long ago he was neutered.

LBJ -- Maybe use something heavy on each end to help old it down? And for Christmas presents -- I wanna get the buns one of those Oxbow hay hidey houses! They had one before and they LOVED it AND it took them an entire month to chew the darn thing apart. With the Oxbow hay rug, they had that gone within a week. LOL. AND we got them one of those cat scratchey things with a hidey house so they could jump on top of it which two of them enjoy but Fleury has no interest in it whatsoever. He's not one for jumping though, the other two LOVE jumping. On anything and everything. I'm going to get them some of those BIG willow twigs they have from PetSmart also and then maybe some hay cupcakes from BB or something. I've never tried them before though! The buns are so picky when trying new things that I'm not sure they'd even be interested...

I'm so jealous that you can do Santa photos with ChaCha -- my buns would NEVER sit long enough to even attempt. And well, there's three... and there's no way I could keep track of three rabbits on a Santas lap. It'd be -- well -- hell to say the least! LOL.
