        Pancake keeps going in the kitty litter box and trying to be a diggy kitty… so i have to give her a bath… i read online baths can give bunnies heart attacks and im a new bunny mom so i dont want to kill her and i dont want her smelling like cat butt D;

          I wouldn’t put her in the bathtub, to be completely honest. Or really in any water. The likelihood of death by shock is very high, and if she’s a really young bunny, in my opinion, the risk is just too high. How bad does she smell? Can you let her clean herself? Bunnies are sort of OCD when it comes to grooming. If it’s strong, can you take a damp (but not too damp!) cloth and just rub her down? If she’s not dirty (like has poopy butt) I really would stay away from a full on bath.

            Also, to prevent this in the future, any chance you can get a screen for the litter box? If she’s insisting on digging through it, I think it would be a wise investment.

              i already gave her a bath she doesnt mind it to much she likes to lay down and wash her face, i really have no way to block of the cat box from her since we have a very small apt. but when we get a house she will have her own room which will probably be my studio as well. But anyway she gets super snuggly after a warm bath and super soft, and she smells horrible after she digs in the cat box

                Its not really about the fact if they like it or not, but that their hair will stay damp for a very, very long time due to the density and that can make them sick. You may need to put the cat box in a place that she can’t get to, for her all-over safety.

                    a bit off topic, but be careful if she’s playing in kitty litter because the dust from the litter can give your bunny respiratory issues.

                        What about a baby gate that the cat can jump over?

                            I have a plastic one and mine have not actually made it through the gate. They have chewed on it though.

                              It takes more than 24 hours for their fur to dry completely, just an FYI

                                I agree with others. This scenerio isn’t good for the bun. You can make a baby gate of of nic cubes too. Or a cheap temporary fix is put cardboard boxes in front of the doorway. I have a metal baby gate that I zip tied nic grids too but it wouldn’t work for every doorway. I would definitely try to find a solution though because the stress of baths on a bun is not good for their health neither is rolling around in the cat liter dust.

                                  I have a baby gate at the door of Dexter’s room and for the last 3 years he has not been able to chew through it. He does chew on it but I looked and he hasn’t even made a dent.

                                    I have a metal/wooden baby gate blocking off my bedroom. It has this rubber coating on the metal grate which my bunnies loved to chew. I ended up putting a thick blanket over the baby gate and they haven’t chewed it since, They just leave it alone now, haha. Just as a solution.
