I am so glad that these guys managed to bond! They were okay as a trio when Kylie was around, but now that it's just the two of them they've become very close. Keelie often stays right at Carbun's side, and I think she knows that he's not well. I have no idea what she's going to do when his heart finally goes (or his kidneys from the heart meds) and she's on her own since the Aeryn and Tegan don't really care for her very much (hence the separate living quarters).
Please ignore the little poopfest.

How's Carbun doing? I'm glad he and Keelie are bonded too - what a cute pair they are. |

Thanks for the comments on the pics! Carbun seems to be doing fine, and is adjusting to having to take medication. He even let me give it to him last night without having to burrito him, which was a nice change. He's definitely a little slower than he used to be, but as you can see he enjoys being with Keelie. And the others have gotten used to his medication routine as well. After his meds he gets a raisin, and you can't raisin one without raisining them all. So as soon as I grab the plate his syringes are on Tegan and Aeryn get very exciting, and Tegan start poking her head out the top of her condo in anticipation of her raisin. There was one day with Carbun about a week and a half ago when I thought he might be getting snuffles - I picked him up to give him his meds one night and his breathing sounded thick and wet and he had some discharge at the corners of both eyes. But no nasal discharge at all. So I gave him his meds and in the morning he was just fine and there's been no further indication of anything like that, so I have no idea what that was about. - Annette |

Carbun's original Bunny Mommy thought that he was the same colour grey as a carbon fiber bike, so she named him Carbun. - Annette |
