Not mine, as I am allergic to cats so can’t have any, but Thursday when i showed up at our Barn I opened the Tack room to let “Claw” our new baby barn cat out to play (He lives in there when no ones around to keep him safe until he’s full grown) and to my much surprise Claw has a new friend! An itsy Bitsy little grey kitty friend!

After the kittens helped me clean the stalls and shows me their expert hunting hay and climbing skills I sat with them in the tack room for probably 30 minutes. Claw was all snuggled in my lap, purring his little face off, not paying attention to his new friend who found Claws tail the most fun play toy ever! LOL

        Silly Kitties

I didn’t have a bad reaction to them either, and it was nice to have such sweet cuddles and affection from these two after a crappy day
I don’t know anything about the grey kitten but Claw was found stray in an industrial area

OMG Cute! I love kittens I’ve had a lot of good and bad experiences at different stables with kittens though.

A lot of stables don’t neuter/spay their barn cats (which infuriates me) and they had kittens that I would fall in love with and they would get sick or killed Also people would randomly drive up to the barn and drop off cats/kittens at the barn, that used to make me so mad. The barn I am at right now has all males, neutered, so no kittens but it’s a good thing. I am in kitten withdrawal so thanks for the pics!

LPT, I so know what you mean. I am in a Trainer private barn, there are no boarders or anything, so less change of someone dumping an animal here. The Equestrian Centre my friend boards at had to trap and spay/neuter all the cats that were appearing at their stable, same issue making more and more babies. Those one are all feral.
These two will be neutered, I had to do some research on how soon was ok. I don’t know if the second is male or female, i will ask tonight.

They had kittens given to them before, and found them much to friendly, always walking to one of the houses, this got them killed by wild animals This is why these kittens are only allowed out of the tack room when someone is with them in the barn. Once they get bigger and learn to stick around and where their safe hiding spots are they will be allowed out. It’ll still be a while, they are sooo little! lol

Claw thinks he’s invinsable, and will walk right under the horses. Most of them are good but one of the mares I ride who is so spooky. Claw also thinks the riding arena is the BIGGEST litter box ever! *sigh*

lol, my last stable had a sweet cat named Elis and he as well thought the indoor ring was his litter box. He was so not scared of the horses. As I rode around the ring, he would throw himself in front of my horse and roll in the sand. Winnie loved him, he would always go in her paddock and lay on the ground and she would nuzzle him. The cats at this new barn are scared of her and it’s sad because she keeps trying to make friends with them but they run away.
