I know it has been a long while since I have posted! After Vivian passed away in September, we took some time to mourn, and then to prepare for a new fuzzy face in our lives.
We decided to visit SaveAbunny a few weeks ago. I adopted my last three bunnies from there – I volunteered for many years there and I know they know their bunnies’ personalities and could help match us up again. And after much bunny snuggling, visiting, petting with many bunnies — we chose Aria. She is such a gorgeous smart bunny! Marcy, SAB founder, said Aria had been there since 2011 (originally came from Zooh corner). Originally Aria was found at a Recycling Center and it has taken a long time for her to find a forever home. (you can see her original story on her SAB page)
I’m not sure why she was overlooked for adoption all these years except that she can be a little misunderstood, (I know I did at first too!) But we quickly found that when you take the time (and it doesn’t take much time at all) to let her know she can trust you, she is one of the most affectionate snuggly bunnies my husband and I have ever had the pleasure of sharing our lives with.
I will post more photos and video of her soon, but for now I just wanted to share the new member of our family, and wanted to give a big thank you to Marcy at SaveAbunny for introducing us to her. They obviously took great care of her there, but we are happy that after 5 years of being in rescues, we can say…..

Super excited to meet Aria, but in the same breath I am disheartened to know she spent ‘5 years’ waiting to find her forever home??? I would have thought 5 months is to long – what is wrong with people???Anyhow, she is HOME now….. and she is so beautiful, lucky YOU!
PS – Henry has been spoiled since day one and do you think the little bugga will be grateful and let me cuddle him??? Nooooooo!

Hahaha! Andi, I was just thinking bout the socks and sandals myself. Remembering how Vivian would attack Steve’s feet on occassion. It’s sounds like Aria has settled nicely. : )

BB has in the past, been known to do a “crazy bunny slipper dance” for the webcams. Unfortunately, I missed getting to see it! -
She’s stunning! ((((And reminds me of my Olivia!!!!…who was also a bit “misunderstood”.
) Big Congrats!!!! I was just thinking the other day about when you would be getting another bunny.
Looking forward to lots more pics and stories!!! So sad she waited so long for a forever home but now she has the absolute BEST home!!!

I think that Aria had a hard time finding a forever home for so long as she can be territorial with her cage, and so any potential adopters may get scared off. Ironically, when we first got the SaveAbunny, I didn’t even know that and she was one of the first bunnies we pet. I reached into her cage without a problem. Then a few more rounds and she was like “Don’t touch my stuff, lady!!”. But because she is also very very sweet, I think everyone there was protective of her, because if someone isn’t reading her right (and I made that mistake too a couple of times), you’d think she was aggressive, and the concern of her getting returned probably was a big one. So she was givin lots of love and attention while she waited, and that is very apparent because she does love to snuggle. She can be exuberant about it too once she is comfortable, she’ll come racing over — and at first I thought she was being territorial (I have been used to that with Vivian, Jack and Rucy) so it was a little startling at first — she literally zooms as fast as she can, and then puts her head down by my leg or my arm, and wants to be petted. I can pet her forever! When I stop, she pushes her nose in more to say “Don’t stop”.
She has already become less territorial with her surroundings and it’s been just a little over a week, but we know to talk to her and pet her first – (As Marcy the founder advised) and then Aria’s like, sure share my food, play with my toys, it’s all good. She is definitely more protective about one of her hidey houses and so she doesn’t mind you petting her in there, but she doesn’t like you touching stuff IN the hidey house. Fine by me! I get all the snuggles I could ever ask for everywhere else (even in her hidey house) I don’t have to touch the stuff in her hidey house!
And she likes Steve! Which is a big plus, after he had been bunny snubbed by Viv for so many years, he needs a bunny that likes him.
She’s been enjoying the sunshine in the mornings — the first photo is right after she flopped (after a morning snuggle session)

AndHenry, I know what you mean about “Don’t touch dat” being a theme song. Sammy. Sigh.
What do we need to go into someone’s hidey house for anyway? I mean, don’t you have your own blankies and toys, BB?

When did she get the name Aria? Was that from Marcy, or did she arrive with that name?

Jen, I am shamefully late to this thread, but really wanted to offer my congratulations and a big welcome home to Aria.
She is gorgeous and so very fortunate to have found a home with you and Steve.
