I just got one of these smart phones for my birthday (it's a Motorola with the Android apps) and although I can post to my earlier threads that I started from my PC or to other peoples', I can't create a new thread with it as it just doesn't bring up the keyboard in the message area.

Is this just me? Or is my smart phone not so smart?

I'm not sure how compatible BB is set up to send and receive all the functions with a smart phone APP yet. I will reply partly to bump this so perhaps Steve will see it and reply further.

My sainted (grand)father would have apoplexy at what phones do these days, having been born in 1909. He hated using them as they were. I'd never get more than 2 minutes conversation out of him.

It's not you. Other members have had this problem also.

Depending on what browser app you're using, there should be an option (maybe through menu > settings) to toggle between viewing the web pages as a "mobile site" or the full "desktop site". When I am on my phone's browser, it looks identical to the actual BB website, just smaller. All of the buttons are in the same location, my moderator settings are all present and accounted for. I prefer xscope for browsing. It is much quicker on my phone than the stock browser.

Thanks Beka. Yeah I know I saw that option (to view the site in a certain mode) in here somewhere, but I can't find it now. I probably set it wrong by scrolling through it too fast.
I can see the site fine and everything seems to be as it is on my PC, but the only exception is typing in the message section of a thread I'm trying to start. I can get the title in, just no message. 0_o

Oddly enough, I can post new threads to other forums/websites I'm a member of but BB isn't working for me unless it's adding to a previous thread.

Unfortunately my phone has a different email addy than the one I have logged here and I can't access my regular mailbox from my phone. I'll send you a note from my computer.

Hmmm. I can't start new threads either. I guess I've never tried to start threads on my phone, I've only replied to existing ones. I tried it both on the stock browser (I have the same phone you do, Mimz) and on Xscope which is my browser of choice, and neither will let me start a new post.

I don't really know what to tell you. :o(
