I purchased a cute woven grass ball filled with hay at the pet expo in Orange County for Kramer and Juli.  It was about 7 or 8 inches in diameter, and they LOVED it!  It was filled with hay which they ate out, then I filled it again with oat hay and buried a few raisins in it and they went nutso….the screen on my camera phone is a picture of Juli with her ENTIRE head, shoulders and mid section burred INSIDE the grass ball trying to get a raisin!  (or, being stuck but covering it up by trying to get a raisin….)

I just wanted to share this with everyone else as my buns are verrry picky about their toys, so this might be a good one for people with bunnies that aren’t playing with their wood toys or rattles…Has anyone else given their bunny this toy before? Anyone else have a bunny like Juli who has made many a ruckus getting stuck in the ball? (Juli also got her head stuck inside an oatmeal tube and dashed around the cage with a Quaker Oats head for a few minutes before she could get it off so its quite likely she’s just a bit klutzy…)

I just saw that BinkyBunny’s bunnies are a fan of this too apparently – I think I need to get some more before I have a Juli/Kramer revolt on my hands….

Bailey’s looks like a crescent moon now, but for a while I would use the ball as a treat ball.  I just kept refilling it with hay, mint, and rosemary and a papaya tablet.

Dawn, if you could get a hold of two small untreated willow baskets and stick some hay and treats in them and then tie them together sisal, you could do a sort of homemade version. Or use a small paper lunch bag, stick hay and a couple of treats in there, then poke few holes in it, roll top to seal it, and see if that holds any interest.

wine!! yumyumyum. I could use that right now, but I can’t – had surgery last week, so I’m actually on my own buzz of pain meds right now while playing catch up.

Eerrr  I drank way too much last night and am a bit seedy today.  Oh golly, and I am supposed to be going out  tonight as well.

Ah thanks! I’m not fond of hospitals either, nor the bill!!  But when ya have to take care of health, you sort of have to go through what is necessary. Can’t remember if Australia is on a government network plan or if you’re left to the mercy of insurance companies like we are here.

All, and all with my recovery,  I’m good. I’d say in another week or so I should be back to feeling normal (keeping my finger crossed.)

I have a follow up post-surgery with the doc in a two weeks, and hopefully she’ll give the okay for wine then.

Well be careful tonight.  But have fun!  I can never bounce back like I did when I was in my 20’s.

We have the public health system but depending on what you need doing it can take months/years.

The wait list is enormous.  Geez you would not want to be in a hurry here!  Our system is very poor.

You can take out private cover, and in those cases your surgery will be done much quicker.  But it does cost of course.  I dont have hospital cover, just ancillaries which covers for dental, chiropractic, optometrist, physio etc.
