So I am planning on building my 2 angora's a NIC cage that is 2 grids wide by 3 grids long and 4 grids tall. They are only 6 months old and weigh 2.5 pounds. I am trying to determine which layout would be better for them as far as shelves go. They like to stand on their back feet and binky around their cage, not sure about climbing because they don't have the option to climb in their current cage.

I would make sure that you get the NIC cubes that are the small ones so that they don't try to pop through them. That sounds like a sufficient cage to me. Nice and big. =] I know some members on here have left the shelves without ramps and their buns to fine with jumping the gap. I built ramps for my cage. My bun does well on them. We put little treads on the ramp for Skipper to get traction. I would look at a bunch of different layouts and sketch out how you would like it. There are many different ways you can put a cage together. =]

I would recommend doing the bottom level larger if possible, even expanding to just a 2x4 will make a big difference. Once you have a couple litterboxes and food/toys, etc in there, the 2x3 won't be large enough for two rabbits.
