So I am almost done with the bunny condo!  All it needs are some wooden dowels and the base and wood shelves put it and then it’s done!  Here are some pictures of it as I built:

        The beginning

        Fun times

It has an opening at the bottom, which I call the “Rabbit Hole” for the buns to go into the x-pen as the please.

And done with the “shell” of the condo.  You can’t see it in this pic but there is a little ledge at the bottom for the buns to hop on to get on the ramp to get to the second level.

I will post more pictures as I go and when it’s finished.  Should be done this week.  The buns will be going back in there Thursday or Friday.

It should be done tomorrow and the bunnies should be able to go in!  =)

This is the shelf…The base looks just like this just full

Shelf with linoleum on it.  Base to be completed tomorrow, then everything should be put in place.  =)

My dad makes cabinets so I asked him about the wood he uses.  It’s untreated pine wood, I read that was okay to use as long as it’s in solid form and not the shaved bedding type stuff.

The condo should be done today and the bunnies should be free to relax in the bunny room!  =)

I was just curious because I haven’t seen such a dark wood grain pattern before. It’s not green so it’s safe. I looks beautiful though. =] I hope the buns enjoy it!

Are you talking about the linoleum I used on the bottom? That’s just stick on linoleum. Not wood. =) I didn’t want to use tile because it would be too heavy then so I just stuck with the linoleum and it looks nice. Yeah it does look like wood though! haha I’m sure it will be easy to clean. =D

No I mean the pine edging. =] It’s really pretty. I love the look of wood! xP But I do like the linoleum! I wish my Lowes had something that nice when I built Skipper’s cage. Can’t wait to see the finished look. =]

Oh!  lol Yeah I like the look (and smell!) of wood too!
So the cage is almost complete and I am soooooooo excited!  We just put the shelf in and the base.  =) Looks so nice.  I am just worried the ramp might be too steep when it gets here.  Idk we’ll see.  Here are some update pics from tonight.  =D

I need to trim the wooden dowel/stick thing so I can open the door easier and fix the bottom shelf things stick because I placed it wrong, but other than that I just wanted to show that I placed the shelf and base. =)

I had my dad do the wood since he builds cabinets! =P I wouldn’t have been able to do it! I am so satisfied with it except the stick on linoleum isn’t as good as I thought and I already placed the shelf and base in =( So the linoleum isn’t sticking so great but it sticks in the middle just not the edges. I think it should be okay, though.

What I did to make the linoleum stick was to put the shelves outside in the sun. The heat from the sun will melt the glue from the linoleum tiles and make it stick better to the cage. Trust me it will work! =] It looks totally great though!

So I tried uploading the finished product but the image size is too big.  =(  I don’t know how to fix that.  I can try taking another picture and change the setting on my phone.

Yeah the only problem is they don’t go in it! LOL Well, Valentine does but no one uses the second shelf yet. I think I may have to teach them how. Rascal only goes in to eat pellets.

I had to teach Skipper how to use the top shelf in her cage. =p =] I had coaxed her up with some treats and put some nommy veggies up there for them to find. I read somewhere to put their daily dose of veggies or pellets on the top shelf to encourage them to go up there.

I got Valentine to use the ramp going up and down. I think rascal is a little nervous of it. I will put the veggies up there tonight and see what happens.
