So in the last week Bunny has gone from affectionate in the ways of circles, snuggling, and grooming, to affectionate in the ways of very frantic circling and aggressively trying to hump various body parts of mine and my boyfriend's. She will be six months in a couple of weeks and I understand that this is normal hormonal behavior. I have set up an appointment with a potential vet for this Wednesday and hope to have her spayed soon. 

So, I read on the site that giving her a "surrogate" may help with her frustrations. I gave her a stuffed horse which she has already started at. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this? I am hoping it will help keep her from going for us, did that work for anyone here? I honestly just feel bad because we haven't been able to hang out as much since any chance she gets she's trying to get at me :/

Foo has only done this twice and both times we have redirected her affections to either her blankie or her sheepy, so in my case having the stand in has worked. Good luck to you!

Yes, a stuffy stand in can help in the hormonal stages. Since you've already got the appointment made, I hope the vet will schedule the procedure soon. Get a toy without beans if you can so she doesn't bite or claw a hole in it, but otherwise, if the horse is already in her winners circle, let her have her way with him.

I've used a humpy buddy to direct the attention off my other bun when I was doing bonding work. It worked well.

she definitely likes the horse haha. Hopefully I like this vet, she sounded great on the phone, but I won't know for sure til I see her interact with bun. I found her through the aemv site and I know a vet tech at the same office who recommended her, so fingers crossed. SO NERVOUS though :/
