Hey y’all! So I will be a new bunny owner in 2 weeks and have a question! I will be purchasing 2 same sex, 6 week old Holland Lops from the same litter that have been raised together in a hutch! I have a huge cage that they will be staying in when I bring them home. I’ve heard same sex rabbits get territorial and was wondering what age they start to fight over they’re territory? They’re to young to be “fixed” yet so when do I need to separate them? Should I keep them separate till they can be fixed? Theyre parents are very kind nature rabbits so will mine even fight at all? Thanks for your help!

I would keep them separated until they are of age to be fixed. Gender is not uncommon to have mixed up, especially with rabbits and I would not take that chance.

As for their personality, it depends on the rabbit. They will have their own personality and it may not even be the same as their parents! Here is a good site on rabbit attitude as they grow up:

I agree with Chacha. Its better safe than sorry for two reasons: you dont want to deal with a litter from wrongly sexed bunnies. Secondly, when they come into their teenager hormones, fights can get nasty, even if their friends now.

Yes, it’s good to keep them separate for now. However, housing them side by side so that they are familiar with each other by the time they’re fixed and ready to bond should speed things up when the time comes .
