Hi everyone, I recently got 4 baby buns, theyre almost 10 weeks old. I brush them every week but not much fur comes out. Any suggestions on what brushes/combs to use? My questions about GI stasis is what do I need to know and what should I have on hand if this ever happens? I know the key sign is them not pooping but I was wondering what else to watch for? I feel like Im being slightly paranoid but I love my little buns and dont want anything to happen to them so I want to be prepared incase something does. I remember reading in other posts about medications to give them, what medications are they and what is the dosage? My babies should only be 4-5lbs full grown. Thanks for your help

Hi Samantha, medications cannot be given or dispensed without your vet's consent so it wouldn't be something you would have on hand unless your vet felt it was advisable.

I suggest you read it in it's entirety and really you don't need to be scared of this, it does not happen with all rabbits and some rabbits never go into stasis.

It is important at this point that you establish yourself with a vet and get your rabbit's examined and start a relationship with the vet in case any emergency arises - I really cannot stress this enough.  I've been lucky to have a very good and long relationship with my vet who has helped me care for all my rabbits through the years.
