I noticed last night while I was examining my rabbits ears that he has in the one ear some yellow crusty stuff as soon as you look in the ear you can see it. The other ear does have a little bit of gray crusty stuff as soon as you look in there. I was wondering if I should clean it or take him to the vet? |

I also wanted to note he isn't scratching at his ears or shaking his head a whole lot. |

No he is not a lop. There is not redness or yucky smell. |

You might put a drop of mineral oil on the tissue when you wipe. I don't recommend a q-tip either, and mineral oil is an old fashioned remedy, but since he isn't scratching or shaking his head it doesn't sound like a medical condition that the vet needs to see. Just remember that a little ear wax is designed to keep all our ears clear of stuff that would be bad for us otherwise, so don't scrub it down to bare skin. |
